New England Fire & Safety
FIRE EXTINGUISHER Sales & Service
Congratulations to Medford Fire Department Chief John Freedman on his well-deserved retirement. Chief Freedman retired this afternoon after serving the City of Medford for nearly 30 years with honor and distinction. We thank him for his dedication to the safety of our community and wish him well in his next chapter!
Who never shuts down and always responds to unthinkable circumstances at a moment’s notice? Who continued to work when the world shutdown during a global pandemic? Who deserves to have their memorandum of agreement honored when it was bargained and agreed upon in good faith? Malden Fire Fighters IAFF Local 902 that's who.
: 10 years ago today, Boston Fire Department Lt. Edward Walsh Jr. and Firefighter Michael Kennedy made the ultimate sacrifice battling a nine-alarm fire on Beacon Street. More than a dozen other firefighters were injured. A cherry tree and memorial plaque mark the location where they gave the last full measure of devotion. We honor their memory, remember their families, and recognize the loss to their brother and sister firefighters.
The Mayor and her administration are attempting to remove the Fire Chief position from the State’s Civil Service. This would allow the Mayor to dismiss the Fire Chief “at will” and replace them with someone of her choosing. She will attempt to use her rhetoric to justify her actions, but this is her creating a political pawn. The Mayor will fill the position with someone who will "shut up and get in line", as opposed to focusing on issues of safety that help better protect the citizens of Medford.
We need a Fire Chief who is empowered and independent from political influence. The Fire Chief needs the ability to advocate for public safety and be free from a political agenda. If the Medford City Council votes yes, the position of Fire Chief will become open to CRONYISM, and that’s exactly what the mayor wants. Our City Council can stop the action! Please contact them and ask them to VOTE NO to changing the Fire Chief position. Keep politics out of this position!

Woof… We want to remind everyone that as we begin to turn on the heat, many animals like the warm air and will actually lay down on the vent. Their tags can get hung in the vent causing them to panic and struggle to get free. Please take precautions so your pets are safe.
GOOD NEWS SUNDAY!
This young man got a flat tire on the way to his job interview. Sheriff Chad Chronister pulled over to help him and found out he was running late. Sheriff wanted to make sure he got to his interview and drove him there. A few days later, HCSO received a call that he got the job! 🎉
This is what it is all about!
