The Sierra Club Tennessee Chapter is a sponsor of the TN State Fair/Wilson County Fair in Lebanon, TN from August 15-24. We have a bunch of volunteers to manage our booth over the coming days. The fair has been named one of the best in the U.S., last year 795,000 visitors from all 50 States and 32 Countries. The Grand Opening Parade will be at 7pm Thursday (August 15th) with the Governor as Grand Marshal. Sierra reps will be riding in a brand new Ford-150 Lightning all electric pickup truck courtesy of Bates Ford-Lebanon. Many friends & contacts will be made in the coming days at the Fair! Go by & say hello if you are in the area and sign up for door prizes and SC souvenirs!

Thanks to all those from community groups for sending questions & concerns to Memphis City Council members in preparation for the discussion today! One thing I am sure of and that is “we need more info” on xAI.

I appreciate the Councilwomen that pushed, and rightly so, for more detailed information as well as public forums for the community going forward. Questions about the unexplained blackouts that have become commonplace, and how adding such a huge ‘user’ will add to the stress already on the electrical grid is a valid concern.
