More than half of non-fiber plastic, which excludes synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon, comes from plastic packaging alone, much of which is for single-use items ♻️

Using a reusable bottle, bringing your own bags to the store, and eliminating single-use plastic bags are a few ways to lessen your impact on the environment 🌎🌿

Luckily, our local heroes, David Burgess and Corteney Mack, co-owners of Memphis Tire Recyclers, have come to the rescue! Since opening their tire recycling facility in 2022, they’ve recycled over 100,000 tires! 👏👏👏

Discover how this dynamic duo is combating litter in Memphis and contributing to our local circular economy by giving new life to these tired tires.

What a day! 🌟 On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, FedEx Cares teamed up with the Wolf River Conservancy, Clean Memphis, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to embark on a mission to beautify and conserve the Wolf River Greenway in Memphis. This event marked 15 years of impactful collaboration between FedEx Cares and NFWF, dedicated to protecting and restoring our precious urban habitats nationwide.

With nearly 40 passionate FedEx volunteers joining forces with representatives from the Wolf River Conservancy, Clean Memphis, and NFWF, we tackled various activities to enhance the greenway. From removing litter and tires to planting trees and flowers, constructing trails, and even establishing a floating garden, every effort made a difference.

Jessica Tillie, Director of Airline & International, and Specialty Ops Communications at FedEx, shared, ‘I always look forward to the camaraderie and team building at FedEx Cares events. More importantly, these opportunities remind us of FedEx’s commitment to uplifting our communities.’

Erik Houston, Executive Director of the Wolf River Conservancy, expressed gratitude for the partnership, highlighting the removal of 138 tires, 15 bags of trash, and significant progress in clearing invasive plant species. Together, we’re making Memphis greener and cleaner! 🌳💚
