Who We Are...
Our Vision: Agape Affirming Ministries is a religious organization that exists to exemplify the agape love of God in our church and community by redefining discipleship, retelling the life of Jesus Christ to heal; and restoring hope to the hopeless through serving.
Mission Statement: “Know God, Know Community. Love God, Love Community. Serve God, Serve Community.”
Why We Exist: Agape Affirming Ministries was birthed in 2019 and manifested in 2020. This ministry came from many years of natural and spiritual experiences as a woman of color, a mother of a black son, a masculine of center/lesbian woman; and a healed woman who has learned the woes of how LGBT+ folks are impacted by religiosity. Those experiences as well as seminary teachings have helped mold me to be present in such a time as this. I am here to help others reconcile their sexuality with their spirituality; link them to community resources for practical needs; and to be the change our community needs to see.
Agape Affirming Ministries exists to minister to the LGBT+ community, marginalized and disenfranchised people. We are a church for ALL people, honoring ALL people and honoring their unique experiences individually and collectively.
