Next Month Jan 16th 2024, The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).

The last day to register to speak at the hearing will be January 9, 2024

Participants will have an opportunity to provide public comment orally during the virtual hearing and should indicate their interest when registering.

These reports makes it clear that lead in the water is playing a key role in exposure to infants and toddlers drinking low level lead exposure. We must do a better job of letting City, County officials along with the community know the danger that exist. In our community lead elimination plan this was one of the four goals identified in making our city lead safe. -Chet Kibble
