Next Month Jan 16th 2024, The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).

Participants will have an opportunity to provide public comment orally during the virtual hearing and should indicate their interest when registering.
On the World Health Organization's list of 10 chemicals of major public health concern, lead is a familiar villain. The toxic metal contaminates air, soil, water and food, and builds up inside bodies over time.
A new study says the global toll of lead exposure is even worse than we thought A new study finds that 5.5 million adults worldwide died in 2019 from cardiovascular disease attributable to lead exposure, more than six times higher than a previous estimate.
These reports makes it clear that lead in the water is playing a key role in exposure to infants and toddlers drinking low level lead exposure. We must do a better job of letting City, County officials along with the community know the danger that exist.
