Today, 09-27-24, T. K. Tanner and his wife celebrate their 78th wedding anniversary. Yesterday they had a plesant little celebration with three of "Gene's" nieces and her sister-in-law from N/E MS.

Heritage #62 OES Sock Hop luncheon prior to their Official Visit with a special appearance by Elvis. Thanks to PM David Hasting, SD Harold Sayco, JS Jeffrey Rice and candidates Anthony Dang and Johann Guzman for promoting Masonic relations by cooking the hamburgers and hotdogs, making the coffee and tea and getting all the food out on the buffet.

Our Fellow Craft and soon to be Master Mason, Brian Mounce, has become the youngest West Tennessean to brief before the U.S. Supreme Court. Congratulations Brian!

I AM THE MEMBER!

Have you ever wondered what happened to the member(s) you initiated awhile back?

Here is an idea that may help answer those questions. Hope this helps.

I am the member who asked to join your organization.

I am the member who paid his or her dues to join.

I am the member who stood up in front of you and promised to be faithful and loyal to the Fraternity.

I am the member who came to your meeting, and no one paid any attention to.

I tried several times to be friends, but they all had their own buddies to talk to and sit next to.

I sat down several times alone, but no one paid any attention to me.

I hoped very much that someone would have asked me to take part in a fund-raising project, activity, or something. No one saw my efforts when I volunteered.

I missed a few meetings after joining because I was sick and could not be there.

No one asked me at the next meeting where I had been.

I felt it did not matter very much to others whether I was there or not.

The next meeting I decided to stay home and watch TV.

The following meeting I attended but no one asked me where I was at the last meeting.

You might say I am a good member, who holds a good job, loves his or her community and his or her country.

You know who else I am? I am the good member who never came back.

It amuses me how the heads of the organization and the members discuss why the organization is losing members.

It amuses me to think that they spend so much time looking for new members. When I was there all the time.

All they needed to do was make me feel needed, wanted, and welcome.

Unity Lodge will be dark Monday, June 17, 2024 so are members may attend the St. John’s Observance at the Memphis Scottish Rite.

We will also will be dark Thursday, June 20, 2024 and Thursday, June 27 will be 21st Degree practice.
