A - Yes, TMS is currently FDA-approved to treat Major Depressive Disorder. TMS is often used for those unable to tolerate side effects from antidepressants; however, TMS can be used alone or in conjunction with medications.
Q - Who cannot get TMS?
A - Patients with any type of non-removable metal in their heads (with the exception of braces or dental fillings), should not receive TMS.
Q - Does insurance cover TMS treatment?
A - Most major insurance companies cover TMS if certain criteria are met. Our Patient Advocates can work with your insurance company to see if your treatment is covered. Give us a call today at 504-619-8685.
