Everyone say hi to Neil! He’s a six month old blue Merle surrendered to us due to a re**al prolapse!

He will have repair fixed, vetted, neutered and then available for adoption.

Fosters still needed for the 9 7-week old puppies. We are not looking for storm fosters….ALL still need long term committed fosters to care for puppies through adoption!!!!

I am preferring to have pups fostered in pairs (they are very small). There are two litters—4 Frenchie/Chihuahua mixes and 5 Yorkie/Chihuahua mixes.

As of yesterday, boarding costs for these pups are $180/day…$20 a pupppy….which the rescue does not have the funds to cover and even if we did, that is a waste of funds that could be much better served on dogs for food, medical care,etc.

PSA - Please do not make comments to be a committed foster if you don’t plan on following through! I’ve spent the last two days wasting time vetting applications of people who never had an intent to foster or don’t even bother to communicate they changed their minds.

Being transparent, MOST (not all)
of the people that reached out privately or made comments that offered to foster either backed out or never responded. To them I say you have cost the rescue $180 a day in boarding for not following through on your word!!

Most importantly now these very small and young puppies have to be in a boarding facility where they can get sick and are stuck in a cage.

UPDATE #2 - 10/23/2024 Fiona IS STILL in boarding awaiting a foster. It’s been almost a month and costing the rescue at least $600!!!!

Rescues cannot work this way… The money put into boarding is money terribly spent that could go towards medical care for a dog. All that is needed is a long term committed foster to step up and take care of Fiona.

PSA- When you commit to foster a dog, please understand you are committing to foster this dog through adoption, which can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months if not longer at times. Fostering for a few days or a couple of weeks and then telling the Rescue you cannot do it anymore really doesn’t help the situation; it actually creates more stress on the dog having to be moved again or put back in boarding.

Leonardo is three years old and is a super sweet, loveable hunk. He’s neutered, UTD on vaccines and gets along with kids, and other dogs.

Fiona is 5 years old and also a sweet girl. She is spayed, UTD on vaccines and gets along with kids, and other dogs as well. She does need daily eye meds.

They are currently in boarding. They should be in a home being socialized and receiving care and affection from their humans!!

Also, it’s cost the rescue $600 a month per dog in boarding fees and we can’t afford that.

A shout out also to Rambo’s foster dad who took great care of him, provided important information about Rambo, his personality and gave him a temporary home !

Update:

Gina is doing great mentally and emotionally with her foster mom; super playful and sweet; loves to play with toys and give kisses.

Physically/medically she’s not 100%. Her URI is either coming back/lingering. She has some green snot coming out of her nose so had to extend her doxycycline.

Her skin and allergies are somewhat better. Her skin not as infected or itchy as before, but also will now require another round of antibiotics as well.

Gina was given a shot of cytopoint during her post shelter physical Town & Country Animal Hospital. Although cytopoint is expensive and there is no rescue discount, it is the best to provide Gina immediate relief from her allergies.

Gina is still itchy so Benadryl was added today along with placing her on zignature kangaroo dog food (fingers 🤞 this helps her skin allergies and provides relief).

Her ears are looking better but still not 100%.

Gina’s right eye is still clouded over and still is giving out green discharge. She is has very low tear production and and we are still unsure if she is visually impaired in that eye. Gina’s eyes require daily optimunne, and optixcare drops and eye wipes (all on her wish list).

We have some very important items added to Gina’s wish list (medicated shampoo, zignatue dog food) and would be greatly appreciative of donations as well as purchasing items from her wish list.
