Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases, impacting 25 million people in the U.S. This year’s World Asthma Day theme is Closing the Gaps in Asthma Care and is a call to identify and close those gaps. The burden of asthma in the U.S. falls disproportionately on Black, Hispanic and American Indian/Alaska Native people.

Visit the clinic and get referred to an eye specialist. 😎
Glaucoma is a type of eye disease that results from damage to the optic nerve, usually due to abnormally high pressure in the eye. It is the leading cause of preventable blindness worldwide. However, because the disease progresses very slowly, many people don’t recognize the symptoms until they’ve lost a significant amount of their functional vision. If you have concerns about your vision or if vision loss affects your ability to live independently or perform daily tasks, contact the Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired staff member in your area to set up orientation and mobility training or to talk through the resources you need. Find the staff list sorted by county at dhs.wisconsin.gov/obvi/contact.htm

Once you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you can start doing some of the things you stopped doing because of the pandemic.
As of May 3, 2021, more than 147 million people across the United States had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Of those, more than 105 million are fully vaccinated.
If you haven’t been vaccinated, get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you can.
If you’re not fully vaccinated, keep practicing healthy habits to slow the spread. Remember to:
😷 Wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose.
↔ Stay at least 6 feet away from others.
🚫 Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.
🖐 Wash your hands often.
