What a week! Thank you to everyone who helped make the record-breaking 2023 AEM Annual Conference an unforgettable experience.
Whether you were catching up with old friends and industry peers, gaining valuable insights and perspectives, or celebrating the contributions and successes of equipment manufacturing leaders -- both past and present -- we hope you enjoyed your time spent with us in Fort Lauderdale!
Akio Takeuchi, the visionary behind Takeuchi Manufacturing, and Susanne Cobey, the driving force as CEO of Eagle Crusher Company, are trailblazing figures who revolutionized product segments in the equipment manufacturing industry.
Takeuchi’s strategic leadership within the compact equipment market, coupled with his attentive approach to customer needs and product development, has notably pioneered a distinct industry segment. Similarly, Cobey, confronted with challenges in the crusher industry during the 1980s, ingeniously used Eagle Crusher’s technology to spearhead the pavement recycling sector, contributing significantly to concrete and asphalt waste reduction.
They both serve as inspiration for the next generation to cultivate and pursue transformative ideas for the industry, and we are proud to welcome them into the AEM Hall of Fame.

Construction equipment has come a long way over the past several decades. The efficiency and emissions achievements have resulted from a combination of brilliant mechanical engineering, the leveraging of technology and close collaboration between manufacturers. That same level of collaboration continues today, helping ensure that equipment will continue getting better, safer and more efficient—well into the future, say Cummins Inc's Jeremy Harsin, Husco's Ben Holter and Danfoss's Ben Hoxie: https://www.aem.org/news/engine-and-drivetrain-efficiency-drives-down-fuel-use-and-emissions-in-construction-equipment

October is a great time to engage in some much-needed self-care and wellness – which is why AEM staff in Milwaukee gathered this week for a coffee tasting seminar, run by our in-house Coffee Leader Sarah Spanjar! Staff learned about the coffee roasting process, how to brew coffee in a few different ways and how to identify the tasting notes of locally-roasted coffees.
Engaging others – both within our industry and across many others – is not simply an organizational priority for AEM. It’s embedded in everything we do.
And because of our lengthy track record of success partnering and collaborating with others, we’re always looking to reimagine and optimize how we collaborate with existing partners, as well as foster new, mutually beneficial partnerships that drive impact far beyond what we’re capable of accomplishing alone, says our own Nicole Hallada.
