"I'm voting because Headway as an organization needs to learn that the 2nd most important rule of running a business is that if you don't treat your workers properly, someone else will. We are assets and nothing less." - Sean Hornsby, Outpatient Therapist
DON'T FORGET!
Last chance to call the NLRB to request a new mail ballot is TODAY at 4:30 PM!

REPOST from Jenna Braun, Case Manager ✊🏽 We are proud to build our union with you, Jenna!
Last week was our final mandatory “info” meeting before our elections began; and while they were exhausting and upsetting, it was incredible to see folks stand up and share their stories and push back against misinformation. Our election period has now begun - let’s get out and vote!
I am Headway United because my coworkers and I need to take care of our emotional health just like the members of the community we serve. - Neal Bhakta, Case Manager
Yesterday, management received a letter from multiple community leaders urging them to recognize our democratic majority and end their anti-union campaigning. We are so grateful for the solidarity from these leaders who help shape the communities that we, too, serve!
We're proud to be part of this effort that so many see the historical value of. Our election starts this Friday, and we can't wait to be the first mental health agency in the state to win our union!

5️⃣ Days until our election begins - don’t forget to wear your union buttons (perhaps as earrings?) and stickers at work to show your solidarity!
If you haven’t filled out a vote plan, you can find it in our bio, DM us, or reach out to any member of the OC!
UPDATE: Case Manager Raises
We were told repeatedly during mandatory meetings that Headway was unable to roll out the raises they've been working on all year. On Friday at 5 PM, CMs were notified that they would, in fact, be the first group to receive them!
There is nowhere in the National Labor Relations Act that prevents management from rolling out raises that they have been already planning to. We're proud of all our colleagues who spoke up about this!
It's still unclear who is getting how much and why, but this is a further reminder on why we're voting yes for our union. If you haven't filled out a plan to vote, fill one out here: https://forms.gle/f8K7o2h325uPpYuEA
I am Headway United because I want equity for my clients and I. - Hailey Wilhelm, Visions Skills Worker at Richfield

“We can’t adequately serve others until we are adequately taken care of.” [….]
“We get into the program because we want to help people and add something positive to the community,” Vanden Broeke said. “But what’s wrong with doing that and being able to pay our bills and put food on our table, being able to survive on only one job?”
