Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMTs
We Represent the Paramedics and EMTs of Hennepin EMS We are proud to serve an area of over 250 square miles, including the City of Minneapolis.
Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMTs (HCAPE) is the exclusive representative of Paramedics and Emergency Medical Dispatchers employed by Hennepin EMS. Our membership comprises approximately 160 members who respond to over 100,000 calls for Emergency Medical Services each year. We are proud to advocate for improved safe working conditions, adequate compensation, and patient safety to support high quality emergency medical services in our community.
Vote Andrew Myers for Minnesota House has been a steadfast advocate for our members on the ambulance and in dispatch. He is a centrist voice of reason at the legislature. Andrew is unflinching in his advocacy for public safety and strong communities. We’re proud to provide ambulance service to the residents of his district and endorse him for office!
Someone isn’t listening to our neighbors and community. Continued name calling doesn’t work in your backyard.
Let’s get back to public service, community, and solutions to our priorities like these I created in my first term.
Childcare = Building Blocks of Learning Plan
Community Safety = 365 Day Initiative
Affordability = Dollars & Sense Initiative
Education =. Better Together Education Plan
Solutions over name calling. People over politics.
Learn more about these plans and other solutions by going to www.VoteAndrewMyers.com.

Endorsed Alert
🚑 I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of the Hennepin County Association of Paramedics and EMTs, especially on Labor Day—a day when many of my hardworking former colleagues are selflessly serving our community. As a former EMT, I know firsthand the dedication it takes to be on the frontlines of emergency care.
These compassionate men and women give their all every day, often sacrificing precious moments with loved ones—birthdays, weddings, and school events—to ensure the safety and well-being of others. Their commitment and resilience are nothing short of inspiring, and I wholeheartedly thank them for their relentless hard work and dedication.
This endorsement is not just a personal recognition but a testament to the entire EMT and paramedic community who continue to go above and beyond in their service. I am grateful for the solidarity and trust bestowed upon me and will use this endorsement to advocate for our essential services.
Thank you to my peers and mentors for standing with me. Together, let's continue to support each other and our shared mission. 💙

FALLEN HERO: Another cop killed. This time in San Diego. Officer Austin Machitar was killed in a motor vehicle crash while pursuing a fleeing suspect. He died protecting and serving his community. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all who knew, loved and worked with Officer Machitar. “I can’t put into words the feelings that come at a time like this,” said San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl, “when we have police officers coming to work, to make a difference, to help those in need, and they put their lives on the line for people they don’t even know. Last night, we lost a good one.”
Our members have partnered with Steve Rummler HOPE Network for years to operationalize a similar program. We have Naloxone give away kits and Fentanyl test strips on all our ambulances.

Burnout is real for our members. We represent 911 paramedics, dispatchers (EMT/EMDs) and BLS EMTs. All of these groups experience burnout in unique and meaningful ways. Raising awareness and developing strategies to lower stigma are good first steps.
