Shabbat at Temple tonight will be what Shabbat always is: a place to share communal grief for the sadness and a place to share communal gratitude for all that is good. We will mourn the lives of the hostages who were murdered, and we will share the joy of one of our kids becoming a bar mitzvah. We will sing songs of happiness and songs of sorrow. We hope you will be with us.
With broken hearts Temple Israel joins the worldwide Jewish community in mourning the tragic deaths of six hostages: Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel G*t, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Master Sgt. Ori Danino. Their memories will forever be a blessing. May God comfort their bereaved families whose worlds have once again been shattered. We join our Israeli sisters and brothers in demanding an immediate return of the remaining hostages.
Shabbat Shalom!
