Secretary Mayorkas Designates Cameroon for Temporary Protected Status for 18 Months | Homeland Security Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the designation of Cameroon for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months.

I know that Cameroon is a place near and dear to many of my friends and clients.

Many of you may not know that there is horrible repression, illegal arrest, detention, torture, and disappearances by the francophone government against the anglophone minority in the country.

Nevertheless, the U.S. government has continued deporting Cameroonians back to certain danger and murder.
Today, the Cameroon Advocacy Network has designated a day of action to ask that Cameroon be designated for Temporary Protected Status ("TPS"). This was given to Ukrainians within 2 weeks of Russia's invasion. But Cameroonians are still begging for relief.

Please consider calling to urge the Biden administration to designate TPS for Cameroonians. This is a designation that comes from the President, so you are directing your calls to the White House, not your Congressional delegation, although certainly you could urge them to weigh in with the administration.
