2024 will be a season of pop-up markets across participating neighborhoods to build momentum and recognition for a stationary, weekly market season in 2025. Each pop-up this year will be connected to a larger, existing neighborhood event.
While we aim to bring back many of the vendors, musicians, and food trucks who made the East Isles Farmers Market great, we’re also welcoming new vendors and talent!

Fall street sweeping has begun! During the next few weeks, crews clean about 1,000 miles of city streets. Temporary hot pink “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance so streets will be clear of cars. Anyone who parks on the street will need to follow posted parking rules or their cars may be ticketed and towed. Learn when your street's getting swept:

Take a survey to help determine future light rail options! The METRO Blue Line Extension project is evaluating several route options between Target Field Station and West Broadway Avenue in Minneapolis.
In response to community feedback about running trains on Lyndale Avenue, the project has been reviewing and gathering feedback on two other options east of I-94, including:
• A route next to the east side of I-94 connecting to Washington Avenue (pink line on the map)
• A route that uses 10th Avenue to Washington Avenue (green line on the map). To fit light rail, the roadway would be reconfigured as a transit mall or a one-way northbound street.
Both east of I-94 route options would require a crossing over I-94 to either 21st Avenue or West Broadway Avenue. Both route options would have a Plymouth Avenue Station.
Minneapolis Route Options Several route options for the Blue Line Extension are being studied in Minneapolis. 1) Between Target Field Station and West Broadway Avenue or 21st Avenue, there are three potential options being considered, including Lyndale Avenue and two alternative routes East of I-94. 2) To move through the We...
The Minneosta DNR recently announced the Mississippi Headwaters watershed entered the drought warning response phase as described in the Minnesota Statewide Drought Plan. The City of Minneapolis is within the Mississippi Headwaters watershed.
With rising temperatures and few significant rain events, drought conditions continue to impact the Mississippi River. As a result, river flows are approaching the threshold that would trigger the City to implement and enforce watering restrictions. While the City has not yet officially declared watering restrictions, it is urging residents and water users to pitch in by following these sensible water conservation practices:
• Water during the coolest part of the day. If your plants need water, water in the early morning or later evening.
• Water grass as needed. Most lawns only need an inch of water a week. Turn off any automatic watering controls. Only turn the water on when your lawn shows signs of excessive dryness.
• Prioritize tree watering. Proactively water your trees. Drought conditions cause stress to trees and threaten our urban tree canopy.
• Mulch your trees and plants. Mulch helps prevent water evaporation and w**d growth.
• Leave grass clippings on the lawn. Grass clippings provide shade for the soil.
• Let the grass grow longer to prevent premature drying.
• Check for leaks. Leaks in hoses, pipes and sprinklers waste a lot of water.
The City is working with the State and community water suppliers to implement appropriate and adequate drought response measures. The City will continue to actively monitor drought conditions and share additional information.
