At the Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County every year, once it gets dark Luminaria are lit around the entire track. Each bag represents someone who has died from cancer. The bags are decorated, sometimes elaborately - sometimes with just a name or message or photo. Sand is placed in the bottom of the bags with a candle. It is a beautiful ceremony and very moving to see the Luminaria Memorial Lap.
Normally, at the Relay and and leading up to that day it costs $10 to purchase the blank Luminaria (that includes the sand, candle and set up the day of the Relay). At the kickoff meeting I can get them 2 for $10. If you are interested let me (Amanda Lowas) know and I can purchase them. You can choose to decorate them yourself or let me know what you want on it and I can decorate it for you. I will just need them decorated back to me by the date of the Relay (September 30th).
I just want to give a heartfelt Thank You to Janice Borba-Wilder and Connie Fuentes who both joined the Relay for Life: Modesto Free Will Baptist - Praying for A Cure Team in February. I also want to thank Toni White for her recent donation. Way to go team! Great start to the year and a great step forward in fighting cancer!
Our first Team Fundraiser is coming up! We will have a booth at the Biker Blessing (see attached flyer) on March 25th from 11am to 3pm.
We will be selling t-shirts for $13 each, 2 for $24, or 3 for $30. Sizes between Small and 3x available (while supply lasts). All proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society!
See our shirt styles that will be available.

Last night was the first Team Captain's Meeting for the 2023 Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County. It was a full house, which is exciting for a first meeting of the year! I think this year's Relay will be amazing.
The Relay this year has already raised $10,355 through it's registered participants! There are 33 Relay Teams already registered!
