Thank you!
But to meet the goal, we will need 3,500 more people to give an average of $100.
Can we do it?

What improvements will be made to the Modesto Library?
The core project (funded with public monies) includes asbestos abatement; ADA corrections in the Children’s Story Time Room and public restrooms; ceiling tile replacement and LED lighting upgrade; improvements to HVAC system and elevator; security camera installation; upgraded wiring for IT; updated furnishings, fixtures (carpet, paint) and equipment.

A Community-Wide Commitment
The library is a source of inspiration, imagination and community involvement for all citizens. And libraries are crucial to the economic health of a city. A beautiful, thriving library can help attract executive-level talent to the area because prospective residents judge a community in part by the quality of its library. One dollar spent on libraries accrues to an average $3-$6 return on investment.

Milestone Update: Our generous community!
We have already raised $1.8 MM before going to the public with our campaign!
But we've only begun! It takes all of us to support the Library and get the job done!
“A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.”

In 1971, the “new” Modesto Library opened at its present downtown location. Now, fifty years later, the library is in serious need of repair. Public monies have been committed to address safety concerns, replace carpet and lighting and create several new learning and study areas. However, more is needed to elevate the library to a level of excellence and a source of pride for all Modestans.
Friends of the Modesto Library is undertaking a $3 million capital campaign to provide enhancements that will make our library a vibrant, attractive resource that the people of Modesto can be proud of.
We need your help!
