Did you buy your tickets yet for the Modesto 500 Lions upcoming crab feed? If not, there's no time like the present! Tickets are available now! Why not get together with a group of friends/family and share a table? What a great idea! π¦π¦π
Anyone?
Guess what?! We're having another crab feed this year! We are changing to an annual fall rotation so we won't be one of the last ones of the season. Yes, holding two crab feeds seven months apart can be a challenge but we're up to it! And you can help support us by buying tickets for you and your friends and family. We'd love to put a table together for you. π¦π¦
Cheers to you, my wingwoman PDG Pat Dimond. The Lions Club service organization will never be the same same. Your kindness, integrity, wisdom, humor, and service to others were on a plane unto itself and the affect you had on others is infinite. You are loved and missed.
Members of the Modesto 500 Lions will be serving along with VCDI & TCDI. Come by and buy a paper! Funds raised support the programs offered by the Salvation Army's Red Shield.
Come out tomorrow and buy a paper!!! To help the Salvation Army!!
It was a good day for a little gardening! Members of the Modesto 500 helped to cleanup the Ryan Dickerson Memorial at 5-points during the Love Modesto event. Looks pretty good! πͺπ¦

Thank you Oakdale Lions for your donation of 256lbs of plastic to our club helping us meet our goal to earn our 5th NexTrex bench!
Lions Richard, Don, Mike and Craig sort and pack recyclable plastic bags for the NexTrex recycling program that turns plastic bags (and film) into park benches.
Our members collected up our bags and paired with the Modesto 500 Lions to send these off to the NexTrex center.
Sad news. He was a good Lion and human being.

"We change the world by enriching lives through our service. We change the world by transforming our communities. We change the world by working together." - 2023-2024 Lions Clubs International President Dr. Patti Hill
Right?!
The Shower & Laundry Shuttle is a worthy organization that our club supports. Is any other club or individual able to help them?
Modesto 500 PDGs Pat Dimond and Pat Casey-Gillum received recognition for their past service at the recent Past District Governor's dinner sponsored by the Linden Lions. The Linden Lions provided a lovely evening which included an excellent meal. It was great to connect with old friends!
Modesto 500 members welcomed speaker Dr. Samuel White Ephraim, Director of the Veterans Foundation. President Clayton gifted the Foundation with a donation from the club.
And to add to the excitement, we had a visitation from just one? member from the Oakdale Lions Club who came to claim their gavel which had been so negligently left out and 'borrowed' by our wily Modesto 500 member, Ricki Conder during our last visitation with their club. Here you see that Oakdale member grudgingly donating funds to retrieve it. A fun time was had by all!
Modesto 500 members PP Ricki Conder and PP Robin Brown served at the Silicon Valley Healthy Smiles free dental clinic hosted by the Santa Clara Dental Foundation last weekend. 841 patients were relieved of pain and infection with care valued at $1.4 million! Thank you to our club who donated $500 to sponsor a chair. It was well used!

The Modesto 500 Lions were well-represented at the Convention!
From our southern plantation food fair booth, to PDG Claudia Miller being installed as PDG and receiving a well-earned Lion of the Year, to PP Gabrielle Deubert receiving the Certificate of Excellence (to her surprise and also well-earned!) and for the club receiving the Sight Conservation Award for PP John Peltier's use of the screen camera to help people in Mexico. The inclusion of Past International President Jimmy Ross at our convention was the icing on the cake!
It was a good year under the leadership of our club President, Clayton Forrest!
We hope all the other clubs enjoyed themselves as much as we did! π¦π¦π¦
