And that is a wrap for Folkstyle wrestling season… couldn’t have ended much better. 3 young ladies took a trip to 18th annual California Girls Middle school state championships and all 3 came home with hardware two of which were in the biggest brackets of the day. Great job ladies. Mailee Wong placed 5th (8th grader) 2x middle school state placer. After making it to the semi finals, fell a little short of her primary goal, but still fought back to win her last match of the tournament!
Evelynn Tubera place is 3rd… (7th grader) in pretty impressive fashion going 5-1 on the day only loss coming in the quarterfinals in OT… which she was able to overcome and defeat, the same young lady that beat her for third in dramatic fashion.
Sophia Santillan place is 3rd (7th grader) dominated all the way into the semi… taking a tough loss to the eventual state camp.. battling back through the consolation rounds placing third (4-1) in the biggest bracket of the day. Placing 6th as a team with only 3 girls pretty impressive ladies!!

Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off over your 3 seasons, leading to your impressive achievement as a two-time SCWAY state placer. Thank you for always giving your best and being an example of commitment and excellence to not only your teammates but your siblings. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what the future holds for your wrestling career!
Congratulations to another one of our club’s eighth graders Eli Tran on an incredible youth wrestling career! After taking a couple years off you’re still able to wrestle at a high level taking 6th place at SCWAY state, simply incredible!! Your passion for the sport has been truly inspiring. Your journey has been remarkable, and we are so proud of your recent achievement As you transition to high school wrestling, we have no doubt that your talent and work ethic will continue to shine. The 18th Annual California Girls Middle School State event will be held on March 30th. This year’s host is Ukiah High School. Please see the link below for the website with all the information. Our local area had a pretty good showing last year and in years past. Here’s just a few Jaguars that placed last year. We also had one champion! Great job, ladies!
