Get to know our 2023 Behavioral Caregiver of the Year, Vijenti “VJ” Naiker!
VJ works as an Intensive Behavior Support Provider out of our Emeryville, CA, Behavioral office and has been with Maxim for five years. Since joining the team, VJ has served more than five clients, including some high-acuity clients with extensive needs and problem behaviors.
Currently, VJ is providing care to Jason Chandler, a 38-year-old with developmental delays. Her support extends beyond helping Jason with daily tasks and participating in activities like the Special Olympics. VJ’s presence and assistance also gives Penny, Jason’s mom, the much-needed respite to care for herself and her other son.
VJ has won the Emeryville office’s Monthly Star Award multiple times due to the quality of her work in the field and her interactions with team members in the office. Claire Palmer, Business Development Manager, shared, “VJ is an incredibly hard worker and has made a huge difference in the lives of many people. She is a rock of support. She is ethical and client-focused 100% of the time.”

In April we had the opportunity to meet with nearly 1,000 leaders at our National Meeting in Orlando, FL. It was an incredible time of connection, learning, and focus on our mission.
Our mission to enhance the quality of life within our communities will continue to remain the foundation of why we do what we do. At the meeting, we revealed our new tagline succinctly capturing this mission statement and the spirit of Maxim even further.
"I think my biggest goal in life is to celebrate my children's successes."
One of Maxim’s organizational goals is to embody a culture of mutual trust and respect, diversity & inclusion, and servant leadership.
We talked to Laurie Phipps, Area Vice President, Clinical Operations, to learn what diversity and inclusion means to her.
National Military Spouse Appreciation Day is celebrated every year on the Friday before Mother’s Day. On this day, we honor the contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses.
Some 4.7 million military veterans have a service-connected disability. For veterans living with severe disability who wish to remain at home, often it is spouses and other family members who bear the brunt of 24/7 caregiving responsibilities. America’s military spouses are the backbone of the families who support our troops during mission, deployment, reintegration and reset.
How Veteran Home Care Helps Relieve Spouses and Family Members | Maxim Healthcare Services There are many home healthcare options for veterans! Caring for a loved one can be exhausting, so why not hire a caregiver with Maxim?
Get to know our 2023 North Region Caregiver of the Year, Pam Robinette, RN!
Pam has been a Maxim nurse for 17 years and has become a valuable member of the team. Kim Kenney, Clinical Supervisor, shared, “Not only is Pam an exemplary and compassionate nurse to her patients, but a kind soul to her coworkers. She treats everyone with kindness and respect and is willing to help anyone that is in need.”
Since 2022, Pam has cared for Aiden, a medically complex 14-year-old patient with Down Syndrome who uses a feeding tube and pacemaker. Although he previously had a trach – due to the advanced care that Pam provided, he no longer uses it. Aiden has also made progress with his activities of daily living.
“She’s exactly the type of nurse you would want to take care of your loved ones,” shared Cecelia Wyman, Recruitment Operations Manager – a sentiment that has been echoed by many people in the West Cleveland office who have had the privilege of working with Pam. Her commitment to her patients and profession is unwavering. Pam commented, “I’m happy going to work, I love being a nurse, I love taking care of people. I feel like I wake up every day and I can make a difference in the world.”

Congratulations to our 2023 National Caregiver of the Year, Tina Paradise-Hall, LPN, from Kansas City, KS! “If I had a loved one requiring skilled-nursing services, I would want Tina,” said Katelyn Keeney, Recruitment Operations Manager in the Kansas City office. “We all agree that she is one of the best Maxim has to offer, and we can always count on her to deliver compassionate, quality care.”
For 20 years, Paradise-Hall has worked as a caregiver, spending the last five years with Maxim. Paradise-Hall is described by her patients’ families as a caring, highly-knowledgeable and passionate caregiver. She currently cares for a medically complex five-year-old boy who has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
While there are many admirable qualities about Paradise-Hall, her colleagues all agree that she is an advocate for her patients. Recently, she was able to teach one of her young non-verbal patients how to use a communication device. She believed in her young patient’s abilities and was able to help him in school, advocating that he get to take part in learning the curriculum. The patient thrived under Paradise-Hall’s care and support, and the family largely credits her for their son’s academic success.
