The Rotary Club of Morehead City - Lookout
This club was founded in 1988. Service Above Self! There's something that all Rotary club members have in common: We take action. We build, support, and organize.
As community volunteers, we reach out to neighbors in need. We save lives. We work locally and globally.
Welcome Marcia, our newest member! We're excited to have you join us.
Three generations of Rotarians
Cheryl Mansfield of The Rotary Club of Morehead City - Lookout, Ashley Council of The Rotary Club of Brooksville, FL and Jerry and Kathe Henke of The Rotary Club of Wagner,SD were together at a rotary meeting.
Our recent guest speaker came to us from the North Carolina Coastal Federation Louis Piner, Coastal Consultant, gave an interesting talk about living shorelines being created on our shores. Erosion is increasing due to rising sea levels, concentrated waves from boats, as well as extreme storms. Oyster reefs and other natural materials are being installed to protect the natural beauty and productivity of our estuaries. Private and Federal funds are available if you would like to know more about this process. Contact Lewis for detailed information at 252 383 8185.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! ❤️
This morning at our meeting Jane Moss and Joan Scott with Rock Steady Boxing gave a presentation. Rock Steady Boxing is a great program for people with Parkinson’s. It combines cardio, big movements, balance, thinking, and fine motor skills. It is offered through the Sports Center. Exercise and eating a well balanced diet are the two main components of slowing Parkinson’s.
Cheryl Mansfield, President and Sheila Glazewski, Secretary of our Rotary Club presented a check to White Oak Elementary School for placing 1st and 2nd in our 5th Grade 1 mile Run for Healthy Living fun run. Congratulations!
