In honor of , Black athletes in the wine space have teamed up to support diversity and inclusion in the wine industry. Our friend Channing Frye at Chosen Family Wines has invited fellow athletes to come together in support of , a nonprofit organization that provides resources — including financial support, educational scholarships, wine education and mentorship opportunities, and job placement — to BIPOC scholars interested in the wine industry. In addition to Dwyane Wade's Wade Cellars, the current roster of Black athletes pledging their support include LeBron James, C.J. McCollum, Carmelo Anthony, Klay Thompson, Kevin Love, Isiah Thomas, Josh Hart, and Charles Woodson.

Participating athletes are making a variety of contributions: from donating 10% of all online wine sales in February, to generous cash donations, to signed bottles of wine, to memorabilia to be auctioned off at the second annual Roots Fund Charity Auction Gala on Sunday, March 5th at Tribeca Rooftop in NYC. All proceeds from the event and the online auction will directly support mission.
