Q. What if I don't have my title?
A. We do pick up car donations without a title. We will have you sign a power of Attorney to obtain a duplicate title and proof of ownership, which might be in the form of the Vehicle Registration, a Bill of Sale, Insurance Policy, etc.

Q. How long will it take for my car to be picked up?
A. The average pickup time for car donations is within a week from your initial contact with us. Generally we are able to do this sooner if there is an urgent need.

Q. Who will pick up my car donation?
A. A member of Cars for Hope will arrange to have your car picked up. We generally use local towing contractors to pickup donated cars, many who provide nonprofit services to Cars of Hope.

Did you know? According to a study by the CDC, between 13 million and 14 million adults in the U.S. lacked reliable transportation in 2022. That's why Cars of Hope, a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers, is committed to repairing and donating cars to under-resourced families in the Chicagoland area. 🚗💙

Turner says: When I was looking a local 501c3 charity to donate my car, I came across Cars Of Hope. I wanted to be able donate in a way that could directly impact someone in my community. Their staff was very helpful in the process of working through the paperwork as well as getting my not-running car towed off to be assessed.

Later on, they let me know that they were able to get my donated car running and ready for someone who needed it and assured me that they ensure that the cars they provide will last people at least a couple years.

Question: How does my family apply for a car from Cars of Hope?

Answer: We donate cars to individuals who are sponsored by one of our partner social agencies. Contact the management of the social agency you are working with, and if they are willing to help you, ask them to complete an application for you to Cars of Hope.

We lift up prayers that the current shop working on the donated van can swiftly resolve any issues, blessing its future owner with reliable transportation for years ahead. 🙏
