🟠 Place their potty in a convenient spot.
🟠 Start a schedule, have them use the bathroom when they first wake up, after meals and nap time and right before bed.
🟠 Find ways to encourage them to want to use the potty. From sticker charts, big kid underwear to rewarding them each time they go, positive reinforcements go a long way.
🟠 Read age-appropriate potty training books with them.

🔵 Making time daily to hear about their activities, hobbies, and friends.

Losing weight isn't about following a strict diet and pushing yourself to work out, it involves a gradual lifestyle change built on healthy eating in addition to regular physical activity. Studies show that those who lose weight gradually, about 1-2 pounds per week, are more likely to keep the weight off than those who make drastic changes. Here are some small steps you can take towards losing weight the right way to help you stay healthy!
🟠 Make a commitment to yourself. Write down your reasons for wanting to lose weight and put them somewhere you will see them daily to affirm your choices for the day.
🟠 Set realistic goals. It's great to have a goal you want to reach at the finish line, like a goal weight, or running a 5k, but setting smaller goals will make those long-term goals more attainable and keep you on track.
🟠 Monitor your progress regularly and reward yourself for meeting your short-term goals.
🟠 One of the best ways to keep you on track is to have someone hold you accountable. See if your friends want to join you for your nightly walk, or find a support group that shares healthy recipes.
May is National Stroke Awareness Month. Now is the perfect time to educate yourself and those around you on the causes, symptoms, and effects that strokes have on us and how we can help if you see someone suffering from a stroke. F- Face: A noticeable drooping in one side of the face or feeling of numbness
A- Arm: Weakness or numbness in one arm and inability to raise both arms level to one another
S- Speech: Slurred or difficulty speaking
T- Time to call 911: with a stroke, every minute counts- If you notice these symptoms in yourself or another, call 911 to get medical attention immediately.

At some point in your parenting journey, you’re bound to come across a temper tantrum. Though small, children still feel big emotions just like adults, and during early childhood, they won’t know how to process their feelings just yet. A child can be easily overwhelmed with emotions which causes them to react and lash out and it’s important that as their caregiver, to decode their emotions and help them through their frustration. Here are some tips for tantrums:
🟠 Encourage your child to use words to express their feelings. This will help you come to a resolution faster.
🟠 Try to remain calm. Loud or angry tones may cause your child to continue or imitate your behavior.
🟠 Acknowledge their feelings and help them work through to get to a calmer place.
🟠 Praise good behavior by acknowledging when they calm down.

Just like you taught your child the importance of sitting properly in their car seat or wearing their seatbelt, it's just as important to teach them safety when it comes to their bike, scooter, skateboard, or skates. While a child may see these items as toys, it’s crucial they know that safety must come first. Make sure each time your child goes for a ride they:
🚲 Use their helmets to protect their head, ensure that they are properly fitting and secured
🚲 Have their shoes tied tight so they do not come loose and get caught in a wheel or chain
🚲 Wear bright clothing especially if riding at night so they are seen by cars
🚲 Keep music devices out of their ears so they can stay focused on what's going on around them
