The best birthday with (some of) the people I love most. From top to bottom it was my perfect day doing (some of) the things I love most.

Started the day in nature with a walk with Maisy. We brought Jeff and he kept up with us without having to get yelled at!

Spent the morning . I am not one for food photos but my lunch was so pretty and also so expensive that I had to document it. Steam, sauna, cold plunge repeat. This delightful torture was after the most incredible massage by Wayne who said my neck and shoulders weren’t the worst he’s ever worked on but also really “not great.” :/

Went to the beach day for a few hours with my boy. I can’t get him to do much with me these days so I soaked up him and some sun for the couple of hours he gave me. Our mutual love of the ocean and 90’s hip hop makes me very happy.

After a call from our camper, Jeff and I had an early dinner . Was fun to see all the young people in see through clothing. We felt old in a good way. Ended the day with a spectacular sunset and having that last cocktail no one needs. Thank you for the calls and texts and messages. I felt the love.

My sweet dad, Joseph (Joe) Zakarian, passed away peacefully at home on June 7.

Everyone who knew my dad adored him. He was funny, silly, kind and honest. He was a pro father, grandfather, golfer, storyteller, golf ball finder, snack sneaker, Hawaiian shirt wearer and bird watcher. He taught us that "love is reflected in love" and boy, he loved us hard.

Born on November 6, 1927, and raised in Modesto, CA, my dad was the 7th of 8 children born to Armenian immigrants. He became a golf caddy on his 9th birthday and that was the beginning of a lifelong passion for the sport. He was a great athlete and started college at St. Mary's College on a football scholarship and played in the 1946 Sugar Bowl. He graduated from San Jose State.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and worked as a medic until he was transferred to the Fort Sam Houston golf course. He turned pro and joined the U.S. PGA in 1953.

My parents met on a blind date and were married in 1958. They spent the first 2 years of their marriage traveling for my dad’s work as a golf gear salesman and PGA Touring Pro. Eventually they decided to settle down and in 1960 he became head pro at Del Rio Country Club in Modesto, CA, and in 1967 he became head pro at Los Altos Golf and Country Club in Los Altos, CA. In 1976, my parents moved our family to Del Mar, CA, and my dad opened Zakarian Golf Cars, which sold golf cars to country clubs and individual buyers. He sold the business and retired in 1996, and then had some fun seeing the world as a ship golf pro for Crystal Cruises. My mom joined him onboard many cruises as well as on other trips all over the world.

During his retirement years, my dad set a personal goal of shooting his age or better on the course, which he did almost 800 times.

Aside from golf, throughout his life he was a football player, trombone player, Boy Scout, boater, fisherman, skier, Padres fan, and square dancer. This last hobby is still a source of much amusement to my siblings and me.

At his request, no services are planned. If you are a golfer, you can play a game and think of my dad. He would surely tell you a great story and correct your swing. Love you, Daddy.

It's going to be a beautiful weekend in the Hampton's!

I am hoping our wonderful clients in this Sagaponack home make good use of this pretty ceramic and wood cabinet from The cabinet, along with the gorgeous colorful artwork by .Claude provide the perfect place to set out snacks and drinks for guests enjoying the fire pit on the back deck.

Wouldn’t you love to wake up here?

Sicilian delights. 1. Coffee table I'd like to take home. 2. Our favorite bartenders in our new favorite hotel. 3. Church of San Cataldo, Palermo. The Arab-Norman architecture here is so beautiful 4. Paloma pre-dip 5. A detour to Sicily's artichoke capitol, a tiny town called Cerda, where there was no menu just a mom and daughter cooking and serving the most incredible food you could ever imagine. 6. One of the one billion road tunnels covered in beautiful flowers 7. The view of Isola Bella from dinner at our hotel. 8. Descent from Mt. Etna. More wildflowers! 9. View from Isola Bella back to beach. 10. Paloma exploring the villa that surely must have held some of the best parties in all of Taormina. More in stories!

Thank you for the very best time in one of the best cities on earth. It was such a treat to see Rome through your eyes and come together with our children in your town for a change. We tried to party like it was actually 1999 and I may never recover, but my goodness that was fun. Grazie di tutto.

Friends, if you are planning a trip to Rome you MUST get in touch with Alysa and spend a day with her as your personal shopping concierge. Her impeccable style and deep knowledge from living in Rome for the past 20 years is unparalleled. Walking around with this New York decorator turned Roman shopping and style expert is like walking around with a celebrity! She knows everyone and everything and will show you the coolest places in town. Trust me, you won't be sorry. you are the very best.

Happy Mother's Day to all, but especially to this loving mama I get to call mine. I've always cherished this photo of us from when I was around 8. Our mom had her hands full with 4 kids, no help and a husband who worked 6 days a week. Somehow, she got us everywhere we needed to be and was always dressed beautifully with her nails and hair done - not a sweat pant in sight! 42 years later and let me tell you, she's definitely the most glamorous grandma in all of Southern California.

Back and energized from vacation. I am still dreaming of the sound of the ocean from my bed and having lunchtime margaritas, but I am also excited for the (somewhat nutty) week ahead. Happy Sunday, everyone! 📷 .aventajado

A few of my favorite things. Beautiful flowers from who always makes the absolute prettiest arrangements. Thank you for thinking of me. North Fork pottery given to me by a dear friend when we jumped forks. A weird little object from the one and only My brass 🦀 because, well, there are three out of four July babies in this house. Probably also from ⬆️. Oh, I also had my yearly massage lol from and if you are local and don't already know her, you're welcome. I don't know why I never get massages. They are medicine. Sending a little 💫 and 🖤 to all on this Friday night.

Do yourself a favor. Find a group of brilliant women with similar geeky taste and head somewhere to learn and laugh for two straight days. I promise your life will feel fuller for it.

Last week was a doozy. Kid #1 broke an ankle which requires a pre-Christmas and pre-vacation surgery and kid #2 has the flu. Fun for the whole family! The only good news (and it's really, really good news) is that today I signed the lease on the cutest office space in the cutest Sag Harbor village building and I am SO VERY excited to announce BMD's second office will open mid-January. We can’t wait to share the space with you when it's ready, but most of all my team and I are thrilled we will now be able to service our Hamptons clients locally.
