116 is green! 🌸🌻🌱 Thank you to Marina De Palma for once again beautifying 116’s tree beds on 32nd and 33rd. And thank you to the The Horticultural Society of New York for beautifying 116’s yard and teaching the students how to garden. We are lucky to have you all. 💕
*️⃣ Please help keep the plants looking great all summer. It’s easy! Pick up trash with a picker and plastic bag and reach out to the PTA for instructions on a watering schedule. 🚮 💦

Back in the groove and carrying on with PS116 30 days of gratitude!
Day 2: Gratitude for the power to advocate for all!
Write to our Mayor today at https://www.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/mayor-contact.page and copy and paste the following to advocate support for housing stability, to benefit all:
I am writing to oppose the 60 day shelter stay limit for families with children residing in Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers (HERRCs). Please consider the effect that this constant disruption will have on the lives of the children who are moved, the teachers and schools that support them and the children that remain in in the classroom as they watch their peers shuffle through multiple placements.
Sincerely,
PS116 Community
Hello, 116 community!
As we go into the holiday break, we’re kicking off 30 days of gratitude and reflecting on the great experiences we’ve enjoyed so far this school year.
Day 1 Gratitude in Generosity:
This week P.S. 116 fulfilled holiday wishes and needs for over 120 children residing in transitional housing -- the majority of whom are seeking asylum.
Thank you to all the parent volunteers, Team116, the 116 and surrounding community support to make this possible. May we all feel and experience generosity of heart and kindness today and always! ❤️
