Dear GLC students, we hope you and your families are doing well in coping with the air-quality event in our city. Given the potential for continuing hazardous air-quality conditions, tomorrow, Friday, June 9th, will be a remote learning day. Your day starts at 8:32 am and ends at 2:52 am, same as regular school. Go to Google Classroom and complete your assignments. Enjoy a good day and a good weekend. We hope the air quality improves soon and we are able to come back on Monday. This school year, GLC created a partnership, as a pilot program, with RTI, Renaissance Technical Institute; a program that provides electricity training to many students. Today Mayor Adams toured RTI, and met our students and our Principal, Ms. Chiluiza. He was very pleased to learn about our partnership and very impressed with our students! Kudos to Ms. Chiluiza for providing this opportunity to our students!

Today, our school proudly celebrated the exceptional GLC High School students who have earned the privilege of being part of our school's National Honor Society. These remarkable individuals embody the qualities of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character that define true excellence. Also, a huge congratulations to this year's Educator Award winner, Mr. Crespo. His influential leadership has positively impacted our school community with his compassion and selflessness.

GLC's AP Psychology and AP Art students visited the latest exhibit by Yayoi Kusama. Kusama's work intersects both mental health and creativity, and the students enjoyed seeing how the artist generates joy out of the hallucinations that haunt her. Thanks Mr. DiBella and Ms. Rios for coordinating!
