We're only one week away from the annual ILASFAA conference!

Financial aid professionals from the entire state of Illinois will attend the conference to learn, network, and share best practices. In addition to making connections to peers, the conference also provides access to representatives from ISAC and NASFAA.

During the 2023 NASFAA Leadership Conference, ILASFAA Board members Elyse Weller (President Elect) and Bambie Roy (Treasurer) used the opportunity to do some hill visits and advocate for Higher Ed. They visited Rep Bost (12th District) along with staff representing Rep Budzinski (13th District), Senator Durbin and Senator Duckworth’s offices. Topics of discussion included FAFSA Simplification and our concerns with the 23/24 FAFSA delayed availability, support for doubling of the Pell Grant, eliminating student loan origination fees, and the student loan repayment plan when payment suspension is lifted.
