I am extremely grateful for my family, friends, and mentors, all of whom encouraged me to chase my dreams and future goals. These important people supported my growth as a professional both inside and outside of academics and as a result, I am the person I am today. Love you, Mom and Dad, I might be the one walking across the stage on graduation day, but in reality, it's you both who graduate due to your sacrifices, hard work, and endless love! These past 6 years have been an amazing journey, and I look forward to what's to come next! Zoha Khalid, Class of 2024

"Take advantage of your time and do things early, to avoid that unnecessary procrastination headache. Use your time wisely to perfect your study tools or prepare for the exam or project. I found that I am most productive in group study sessions prior to exams. This way people with different strengths can all come together and teach the material to one another. Maybe another student heard more of the lecture than you did or they understood a topic more than you. This in turn allows for a collaborative environment and encourages each student to learn each component and subject for the exams.
Pharmacy school flies by! Make sure to take advantage of opportunities for self-care, after all, how can you attend to the copious number of things on your to-do list and care for others, if you yourself are not in the healthiest state of mind? You simply cannot. It is imperative that you can navigate the rigors of pharmacy school with resilience and grace, ensuring not only academic success but also personal well-being along the way. Step out of your comfort zone and explore a new hobby – your mind, body, and soul will thank you!" Sarah Adly, Class of 2024
Tanya Ansari, junior in the Biomedical Sciences program received the 2024 James A. Benson Memorial Undergraduate Research Scholarship Award. Her award-winning study examines how cultural factors, such as stigma, collectivism, and acculturation, impact the willingness of self-identifying first-generation South Asian American young adults’ mental health treatment-seeking behaviors. Congratulations!
