PUPPETS TAKE OVER
THE BIG APPLE

Announcing NYC’s First International Puppet Fringe Festival, happening the week of August 8-12, 2018.

The Big Apple will host puppets from around the world as they will take center stage at NYC’s 1st International Puppet Fringe Festival in August 2018. Emerging and established puppeteers and puppet troupes of various styles will showcase their artistry and ingenuity through Performances, Exhibits and Symposiums which will delight and entertain audiences of all ages.

The very first edition of the festival will be held at “The Clemente” on the Lower East Side, a cultural institution known for its variety of cultural programming, broad-minded cultural vision and collaborative philosophy. “We are excited to bring all of these national and international artists to the Lower East Side and to provide an event that culturally reflects the diversity of New York City. We feel that the Clemente is the perfect venue for a fringe style festival since many festivals have taken place at the center over the years,” stated Dr. Morán, Festival Producer.

The International Puppet Fringe Festival will take place every other year with its first edition happening August 6 – 12, 2018. The application process is now open (link). We encourage puppet artists and professional puppet companies from around the world to apply. All materials will be submitted online.
