The Consulate General of Italy in NY is pleased to announce the opening of the art exhibition “The Prism”, by the Italian artist Stefano Simontacchi, taking place on May 14th, 2024 at 6.00 pm at 690 Park Avenue, New York.

The Prism is an interactive art project, that aims at creating a special connection with the audience through emotional portals and powerful circular, luminous and reflective works, inviting to meditation and spiritual awakening.

On the occasion of the Day of Italian Research in the World, join us on April 23 for the Davide Giri Talk, “The Perfect Storm: Sustainable Perspectives and Cityscapes” with an incredible panel of experts! 🌍🇮🇹

This event is part of a series dedicated to the memory of Davide Giri, a fantastic researcher at Columbia University tragically killed in NY in 2021 🕯️

🎉 Big celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the arrival of the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano in NY Bay 🌊⚓️ in 1524. The very first “bridge” between Italy and what would become New York, Verrazzano embarked on a discovery mission on behalf of the French Crown, largely funded by the Florentine family Gondi.

We were honored to be part of the celebrations at Battery Park in front of Verrazzano’s statue, together with NYS Governor Cathy Hochul, NYC Parks Commissioner Susan Donoghue, Italian Parliament VP Giorgio Mule, Tuscany Region President Eugenio Giani, Hon. Christian DI Sanzo and also a French delegation.

Thanks to the Italian American Leadership Forum and all our Italian American friends, for organizing a great event on our shared heritage and the Italian spirit of discovery! 🇮🇹🌍

🎖️ Congratulations Colonel Matthew Bogdanos - Manhattan Assistant District Attorney and Head of Trafficking Unit - for receiving the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia! 🌟

His efforts in fighting illegal trafficking of archaeological artworks and cooperating with Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage have allowed to bring back to Italy hundreds and hundreds of artworks, fostering the relations between Italy and the United States 🤝
