Last week, NADAPโs Patchogue office staff met with Carolyn Villegas, Community Development and Education Specialist at ECLI-VIBES, to discuss how we can better support victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

This month, NADAP's Career Compass Manhattan office in Harlem sat down for lunch with John Darin, President & CEO of NADAP.
John opened the conversation by saying that heโs interested in hearing their concerns and that he appreciated their dedication to their clients.
Staff discussed the changes in the program over the years including providing hybrid services and the need to fill vacant positions in order to keep staff revitalized.
John talked about the many changes that have occurred before, during, and after the pandemic and that he always strives to make NADAP a great work environment for them.
John concluded the lunch by sharing NADAPโs vision for the future.
NADAP was honored to attend Senator Nathalia Fernandezโs Summer Soirรฉe last week. We thanked her for her recent advocacy in helping to restore critical state funding for Vocational and Job Placement Services, in partnership with NADAP and the InUnity Alliance, and for her unwavering support of New Yorkers with Substance Use Disorders.
We are committed to continuing our collaboration with Senator Fernandez to support those affected by the opioid crisis.

After fleeing war, Viktor and Inna arrived in New York hoping to rebuild their lives.
Just as they started to settle into their new lives, their health insurance was canceled, leaving Viktor without coverage for his diabetes.

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Camila Pino to Senior Insurance Navigator in recognition of her dedication, expertise in insurance, client-centered approach, and positive impact.
Camila joined NADAP during a critical staffing shortage and a significant influx of immigrants in NYC. As a new navigator, Camila swiftly mastered various insurance plans and conducted on-site enrollment services in different Latino communities. Within just 4 months, she was mentoring junior navigators! Additionally, she contributed by translating materials and program webpage into Spanish.
Camila's passion for her work is palpable. "It's incredibly meaningful to assist asylum seekers who have just arrived in this country and need support the most," she shares. She not only helps clients find the right insurance but also connects them with essential city resources.
In her new role as Senior Navigator, Camila aims to streamline procedures and enhance logistics to improve efficiency and empower clients with better access to their insurance benefits.

This week, NADAP was honored to join InUnity Alliance (IUA) in celebrating John Coppola and Amy Dorin, two trailblazers who have dedicated their lives to advocating for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD).
At the event, our CEO, John A. Darin, also had the privilege of meeting and taking a photo with NYS State Senator Nathalia Fernandez.
He expressed our sincere gratitude for Sen. Fernandez's tireless efforts in restoring $11.4 million in funding for Vocational and Job Placement services in the NYS FY 2025 budget. She has been a true hero in mobilizing other legislators to support these necessary services for SUD clients
We applaud these advocates for their efforts to create a world where those with substance use disorders receive the support and opportunities they deserve.
NADAP held another โBreakfast with the Presidentโ event at its Hempstead location, bringing together staff from Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Last week, our amazing Social Committee at our main office brightened everyone's spirits with a Pop-Up Lemonade/Iced Tea stand.
Those cool, tangy drinks provided the perfect sweet escape from our busy workdays.
NADAP is proud that our advocacy efforts alongside the InUnity Alliance have led to the NYS OASAS restoring the full $11.4 million in funding for vocational services in their FY 2025 budget.
This funding will provide vital job training and employment assistance to help New Yorkers in recovery build independent and productive lives.
This is a huge win for the recovery community and weโre grateful to NYS Senator Nathalia Fernandez, Assemblymember Anna Kelles, and Assemblymember Phil Steck for their advocacy and support on the issue.
We also thank OASAS Commissioner Cunningham and Governor Kathy Hochul for hearing our concerns and welcoming us as key partners in the fight against substance use disorder and addiction.

Last week, NYS Senator Nathalia Fernandez and NADAPโs Director of Development, Douglas Ostrov, joined the InUnity Alliance in Albany to spotlight the urgent need for job training and vocational services at the NYS Opioid Settlement Fund Advisory Board meeting.
These life-changing programs help tens of thousands of New Yorkers with substance use disorders to overcome employment barriers and avoid relapse.
