Kirk is the recipient of the college's Paul Klapper Scholarship. Named after the college's first president, the scholarship is given to graduating seniors who plan to pursue graduate work.

Dr. Yoko Nomura interview on ABC news tonight at 5:45pm! The recent published paper in Journal of Child Psychology & Psychiatry described how preschool children exposed to Superstorm Sandy had elevated risks for various psychopathology. Dr. Nomura was interviewed by ABC Channel 7. The interview took place at Queens College and she described how Stress in Pregnancy (SIP) Study captured this unfortunate natural disaster and studied the impact on offspring. It will be aired today (Sep 23, 2022) at 5:45 during the ABC Eyewitness News.

Due to the severe weather conditions expected this weekend, the Queens College campus will be closed on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30. All events scheduled on campus have been canceled. Rosenthal Library will be closed and the shuttle bus will not be running. The CUNY COVID testing site in the Student Union will be closed.
In-person classes that are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday can be conducted virtually or rescheduled. Faculty are asked to inform students in their classes as to whether the class will be held remotely or made up in the future. Classes that were already online will be conducted.
Employees designated as “essential staff” must report to work.
