Facilitator: Dr. Naida Zukić, Associate Professor in the Speech, Communications, and Theatre Arts Department
You are all invited to a Mass Media workshop tomorrow (Wednesday) 2-3:45 PM in Room F204 by Professor Naida Zukić.
___________
Media narratives have a powerful cultivation effect helping to shape cultural attitudes and opinions about gender roles/expectations. The workshop explores theories of gender hegemony as represented in video games. More specifically, we will examine the ways in which gender stereotypes and media representations of women’s deaths in video games normalize, maintain, and perpetuate systemic and institutional sexism.
Join us tomorrow at 2 pm. Room F204.

• Facilitator: Dr. Scott Tulloch, Associate Professor in the Speech, Communications, and Theatre Arts Department
Today we were privileged to have Dr. Scott Tulloch to lead a workshop on the “Fake News” phenomena. During his interactive workshop, Dr. Tulloch tracked the history of “Fake News”, explained how it is crafted, covered it’s socio-political implications for contemporary society, and gave advice on how to identify and deconstruct it.
We could not have asked for a more insightful workshop.
In this photo, Club President Romario R. Ricketts hands Tulloch a certificate of appreciation.
