Today is National Zip Code™ Day—dedicated to recognizing the significance of the ZIP code system and its impact on our lives. In the 1960s the USPS created the Mr. ZIP character to promote including a ZIP Code on all mail. In honor of Mr. ZIP's 60th anniversary, he and his supporting characters were reintroduced and reimagined with new character visualizations and an updated storyline to capture the imagination of kids, brand fans, and collectors. 3D and 2D renderings were developed and a style guide created for licensee use. Congratulations to Sandyha Naidu Janardhan, founder of Community Design Agency, on being awarded the Berkeley Rupp Prize, recognizing women who have made a significant contribution and commitment to architecture in the areas of gender equity; environmentally sensitive use of resources; community; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); and innovation in their work.

Sandhya is an architect and advocate of community-led social impact design and sustainable architecture. Her work focuses on cultivating processes that provide marginalized communities with the agency to choose where and how they live, work, and play. We’re so proud to have had the opportunity to work with Sandhya on the strategy, design and development of websites for Community Design Agency, Curry Stone Foundation and Design for the Common Good, that support their incredible work and dedication to social impact design. For over 119 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City has been on the forefront of pairing generations of Bigs with generations of Littles, exploring fresh and effective ways to engage youth and ignite their potential. Women in Data Science, WIDS is an organization that elevates women in the field of data science by inspiring, educating, and supporting female data scientists. Alternatives worked in collaboration with the WiDS team to develop branding, positioning, and messaging that is dynamic, energized and engaging. Margaritaville at Sea is a whole new way to experience Margaritaville! We’d like to take a moment to remember a former client and friend, Harvey Alstodt. Sadly, Harvey passed away over the weekend at the age of 82. He had a profound influence on the beauty industry, formally serving as president of Coty Beauty and Del Laboratories and as founder of Diversified Beauty Products and MBA Beauty. We had the privilege of working with Harvey and his team at MBA Beauty, where we helped to build, create, and launch beautiful nail color and care brands such as Tweets, Dr Marvey, Waterworks, Confetti, 10, and pic-a-color. You will be missed Harvey, but your legacy will live on. RIP.

We worked with Bethany to design a develop an e-commerce website for her ultra-high quality collection of custom blended nail lacquers. The site showcases the collection through dynamic product photography, elegant use of typography, and unique brand voice.
