We Grow Together NYC
Child'Space NYC Classes for Babies and Parents. Learn to Support Development Through Touch Movement Learn to Support Development Through Touch Movement and Song
After 15 years and around 2500 babies in group classes, I'm taking my next big step. In order to go deeper into my work with new parents, I am moving We Grow Together from classes, to offering private and semi-private (2 babies) sessions only. I'm offering 4-week programs for supporting your baby's movement and co-regulation through touch.
If you're interested to book a 15 minute consult with me to discuss a package of sessions, you can sign up for one here.
Last week I had a zoom call with Julie and Gabriella, two moms who had just finished a series of small-group sessions with me. Here's a little from Julie about what she gained from the experience.

I’ll be live on IG answering questions and talking about an approach to tummy-time which focuses on learning and relationship, with Lisa Greaves Taylor of Birth Matters this Thursday!
Just when tummy-time seems hard enough already for some babies, they start lifting all their limbs in the air and it becomes even more work! In this week's youtube video I talk about the Landau reflex, aka "Parachute" or "Superman" and share a clip demonstrating hands-on interaction from the Tummy-Time Together course. https://youtu.be/CrbAPL1qYHQ

When research is cited to give parents blanket recommendations, many crucial factors beyond how many minutes per day tend to get ignored. In this video, part 1 of a 2-part series, I share one of these "crucial factors," and why making sure you get in your tummy-time minutes is not an ideal way to approach things for you or for your baby.

Pediatricians are loving parents too, and "crying it out" can tug on their hearts as much as anyone's. Luckily there's a path forward that allows for listening to recommendations for tummy-time as well as listening to your baby's obvious discomfort in prone position!

"Mini-milestones" are part of the learning in We Grow Together classes. Parents learn, for instance, that when their baby is holding a toy with two hands in the middle of their chest, that it's an important moment that isn't in the baby-books and apps. Holding toys on the midline that way, is a baby-step along the way to transferring toys from hand to hand.
What were other important movements that weren't on the milestone charts that were a surprise to you?
