The 2024 Application Period is currently on hold. We are working on securing a permitted building lot and will post the information when that happens. Please check for updates regarding when we reopen the acceptance period.

That’s a wrap. After months of planning, building, and hard work by our Habitat volunteers, the 2023 build is complete. This two story, 1200 square foot house will soon be home for a family of five. The family worked with our build crew for the past ten months to reach their goal of home ownership. At Habitat, we call our families partners because of the journey we complete together. Exciting times ahead for all of us.

A huge thanks to The Valley Originals for recognizing MWV Habitat for Humanity and providing a generous $2,000 donation to support our mission to provide affordable home ownership.

The end of the build is a few weeks away. Here is the living/dining room area ready for carpet install next week.

Two floors means almost twice the work for our build this year. But the volunteers are working on the finishing touches - kitchen cabinets/counters, bathroom fixtures, and lots of painting of trim and doors.

A big thanks to GT Burke for coming to our rescue and help get our water connection completed. Now we can get the heating system fired up and continue with tile/trim/paint.

The volunteers have been showing off their painting skills for the past couple of weeks. Kitchen cabinets arrived this week and installation started right away. One bathroom is tiled and window trim is almost done. Lots going on! A big thanks to Doug Guilford painting for prepping the drywall for paint. And Chick Lumber for donating the tile.

The mild weather helped our build over the last couple of weeks. Doug Guilford Painting finished the wall prep which allowed our crew to add color to the walls on the main level. And the warm weather let our grass germinate and sprout. More painting next week.

Our volunteers have been busy inside and out the last month. The siding is all done and plumbing continues. Drywall is underway and moving along quickly.

The volunteer crew has been busy inside and out. Exterior siding is nearly complete. The radiant heat system has kept the inside crew busy stapling layers of reflective insulation between the floor joists. Warm floors will be the homeowner’s reward for the hard work. Our electrician crew has completed the rough-in and we are ready for permanent power.

Thanks to everyone that attended our Home Furnishings Sales in July and August this year!! This fundraiser was a great success and all proceeds go to Building Homes for Low-Income Families. Thanks to Mount Washington Valley!!

Windows are in! Our volunteers dodged the rain today and installed the windows. Framing was completed last week with the help of the Kennett Summer Construction Camp. A big thanks to the campers for helping us out.

The roof is on! A huge thanks to Mike Lyons Roofing for working through the heat the past two Thursdays and laying shingles.
