Some updates on the exciting few weeks ahead!
We are finishing the first part of our Spring Semester and embarking upon the middle of our term. While there is no formal examination period, many professors hold exams or give assignments during the Midterm, so check in on your students to see how they're doing!
Luckily, students have something to look forward to after the Midterm; Spring Break is just around the corner! During this period, students receive a well-deserved break from their classes; Houses close at 10 AM on March 16th and re-open at 1 PM on the 24th. If your student plans on leaving campus later or returning to campus earlier than these times, they should register for Spring Break Housing so they have access to their house. The Spring Break Housing form is now open and closes at 11:59 PM this Friday, March 8th.
Have a great week!!
The Office of Student Engagement is excited to present some upcoming excursions for Smith students this semester!

Looking to the future, on April 6th, there will be an excursion to Newport, Rhode Island. Students can take advantage of the food and shopping while enjoying the beauty of this picturesque New England coastal town. The trip will tour the Historic Breakers Mansion, once owned by the Vanderbilt Family and located on the cliffs overlooking Easton Bay of the Atlantic Ocean. Sign-ups for this trip begin Tuesday, April 2nd!
Happy Wednesday, Smith Families!
Our annual Rally Day was held this past Thursday, to honor both our soon-to-be graduating Smithies and the Smith College Medalists. This tradition, having endured since 1876, celebrates Smithies, who are about to embark on their journey into the world, and those Smithies who have succeeded and excelled in their fields after leaving campus. Current Smith seniors, finishing up their final semester on campus, don their graduation regalia for the first time, accompanied by a fun hat, and celebrate their hard work coming to fruition. Medalists return to receive the Smith College Medal, honoring them for their contributions to their communities and the world. Rally Day is a celebration of the strength of the Smith Community, and the power that Smithies have to contribute to the world.
We look back on the day with excitement, both for the Smithies who will be leaving us in May, and for the continuation of the tradition next year with the Class of 2025!
There's still time to register for Spring 2024 Counseling Groups! Whether your Smithie is looking to bolster their support network or build academic and emotional skills, counseling services has a group for them.
