Awarding adoption grants to complete the adoptions of children in vulnerable circumstances. Every child deserves a loving family.

Yet more than 153 million children are growing up in orphanages, on the street, or in foster care, including 400,000 in the U.S. Permanent families can prevent the poor life outcomes that unadopted children face, since families provide the protection, nurturing and love that allow a child to flourish. Gift of Adoption awards grants to complete the adoptions of vulnerable children - giving them per

"The gift of adoption is the opportunity to experience family, both from the perspective of the child and the perspective of the adoptive parents. It is our responsibility to always try to do all we can for Gemma, and to encourage her learning and healthy development. We have already seen her bond growing with us, as she has become very attached to us as her parents, and we will continue to always provide a loving home for her. We are so appreciative of our great experience with Gift of Adoption and are so grateful for your generosity and support in helping us bring Gemma home."
Gemma was adopted in 2024 by Kara and Clayton with the help of a Gift of Adoption grant.

"I met my sweet boy, Emmett, when he was ten days old. He was born to teenage parents who felt they could not provide the life they envisioned for him. Emmett was born with some medical issues but since coming home, he has completely flourished. He is growing like a w**d, claps his hands, gives the sweetest kisses and absolutely loves life. My Gift of Adoption grant made it possible for Emmett to come home. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

She likes to ride on her scooter, drives her 'car' at high speeds through the house, and loves to swim. She can climb up almost anything. She keeps us busy! Aria is an absolute joy and we can't wait to see who she becomes as she grows."

5,000th Child Update! Last year, in spring 2023, we shared the news that, because of you, Gift of Adoption had completed the adoption of its 5,000th child. That child, Dilan (formally Josue), was adopted from Ecuador along with his two younger brothers, Darwin and Abraham. They boys lived in an orphanage for 5 years prior to their adoption. They have been home for over a year now and their parents, Nicole and David, recently shared this update with Gift of Adoption.

"Our boys have blossomed since coming home. They are so happy and healthy. They are doing very well in school, have made new friends, and are playing sports. Prior to adoption our children were fearful of being separated and of not having opportunities in life. Now they are experiencing many new things and know they will continue to do so together. Dilan is playing club soccer and loves every second of it. His team won a tournament! Darwin is taking piano lessons and has started soccer as well. Abraham’s first year of hockey just ended and he’s taking skating lessons in the off season. The boys would like to share that they are thankful to have been adopted and are so happy to have a mom and a dad to take care of them. Dilan, Darwin, and Abraham have brought so much joy to us and to our extended families. They are wonderful, special boys. Thank you for supporting us on this incredible journey."

"We've been able to provide a home for Alex with a large support system of family and friends. She was born prematurely and had a 6.5 week long stay in the NICU. She was under 5 pounds when we brought her home and is now well over 12 pounds and keeps hitting her milestones. We've been able to witness her little personality develop and can see her starting to interact with others. We never would've been able to cover our adoption fees without the help of our Gift of Adoption grant. We can never thank you enough for your generosity!"
Alexandria was at risk of entering foster care but was adopted in 2023 by Alyse and Andrew with the help of a Gift of Adoption grant.

Meet Hank! Hank was adopted from Kyrgyzstan in 2023 with the help of a Gift of Adoption grant. His parents, Curtis and Desiree recently provided this 6-month post-adoption update. "Hank has gotten multiple needed medical procedures since coming home. He is in therapies to help with movement, and speech. And he is attending preschool! Since being home, he has learned to walk and no longer crawls. He is understanding English and uses signing to communicate. When we first met Hank at the orphanage, he wasn’t very expressive or responsive, but he is now full of personality! He loves to interact by teasing and giving lots of hugs and kisses. The gift of adoption is to witness our new son learn, grow and develop! He amazes us! We have also seen our family grow in love and patience! This gift of adoption is the gift of our Hank!

This last Friday of , we are honored to bring you one more story. We also humbly ask for a contribution, of any amount, to help ensure more children in foster care find permanency through adoption. Children like DJ and Aria (pictured center) who spent time in foster care and were adopted in 2023 by Ashley and Frank with the help of a Gift of Adoption grant. "We encountered a significant amount of uncertainty, anxiety, and financial responsibility that were very unexpected in our adoption journey. Our gift of a grant allowed us to continue to focus on meeting the needs of our 4 beautiful children while we navigated all of this. Both DJ and Aria have special needs but have continued to make wonderful progress since joining our family. DJ has discovered a love of music and has even joined a music therapy program. Aria has shown an interest in hockey and started playing Mites this past fall. Our grant was a significant blessing, and one we will forever be grateful for. Thank you."

It's Foster Care Friday! Will you make a donation today to help ensure more children who are at risk of entering foster care are united with permanent families? Children like Skylar... "Skylar is the happiest baby you will ever meet. She smiles at everyone. You would have no idea she was born at only 2lbs 3oz and spent almost two months at the NICU/special infant care. She had a lot of health obstacles to overcome but continues to do well. We have had early intervention services working with Skylar to make sure she meets all developmental milestones on time. Thanks to your generosity, we did not have to worry so much about financing the adoption and could focus on the care of our daughter. We are extremely grateful and cannot imagine our life without Skylar." Skylar was adopted in 2023 by John and Candance. Your gift, today, in honor of National Foster Care month of ANY amount will make a difference in life of another child. Thank you!

These grants can cover costs that are the responsibility of the adoptive family such as moving expenses, home safety improvements / modifications, or vehicle accessibility expenses where these are the only obstacle to overcome to pass home inspections to become licensed to adopt the relative from foster care.

Each Friday of we will share with you a recent story of a child whose adoption prevented them from entering or aging out of foster care. Today, we are honored to share Baker's story. Baker was born in March 2024 and would have immediately entered foster care had his birth mother not chosen adoption for him. Hopeful parents Micah and Alex were thrilled to match with Baker but the young couple could not cover the high cost of his adoption alone. A grant from Gift of Adoption helped them to say yes to Baker. "Baker had a rough start in the hospital NICU but since coming home, he is thriving. His favorite thing to do is lay on our chests and smile. He loves nursery rhymes and when dad reads him books. We are over the moon to have our little one. Thank you for everything. This is life changing."
