Transforming Lives Through Sports
All Kids Play is a nonprofit with a vision of transforming lives through sports. Our mission is to increase quality youth sports participation by providing financial assistance to families and communities that lack sufficient resources and to provide education on safe and healthy play.
Over the past twenty years, the now $16+ billion youth sports industry has become largely profit-driven, which has over time created a socioeconomic “play gap.” Youth sports are more expensive than ever, and under-resourced families and communities are largely being left behind. Participation is vital, especially for at-risk youth, as there are compounding benefits to playing. Youth sports facilitate learning important life skills, such as leadership, teamwork, perseverance, and self confidence and just as importantly, keep kids active. Active kids turn into active adults, and research shows that they are more likely to succeed in school and work and are less likely to suffer long term health issues. Our grant program for families and communities will get more kids playing so they can realize these benefits.
All Kids Play is also focused on ensuring young athletes have high-quality, safe and healthy youth sports experiences. Our education program is largely focused on helping coaches, parents and athletes access educational resources on effective motivational techniques, injury preparedness and prevention, and the benefits of multi-sport play. We believe that providing a safe and healthy environment for young athletes will keep them in the game longer.
