Our Story

In 2014, Windcall celebrated our 25th Anniversary. Over the years, hundreds of social change organizers have taken a break, been astounded and healed by the beauty of the natural world, and developed self-care practices that help create organizations and movements that are sustainable, livable, and healthy.

25 Days of Windcall (25DW) is a way for all of us to honor Windcall’s 25th Anniversary and the gifts it has brought the social justice movement by actually doing practices that grew out of the Windcall experience. You don’t even have to go on a retreat, you can do these wherever you are. http://windcall.org/25-days-of-windcall/25dw-calendar-of-practices/

Windcall believes that organizing is fundamental to building strong movements rooted in communities of color and low-income communities. Windcall invests in community and labor organizers – often those who are unsung – committed to building bases, power and movements.

Our signature offering is the Windcall Resident Program, which gives organizers an opportunity to take a 3-week retreat in a place of great natural beauty, enhanced by leadership coaching and peer support.
