Young Professionals Ocala connects professionals, ages 21-40ish, with learning opportunities on key important issues facing our community. YPO serves as the ‘go-to’ group for young professionals establishing themselves in the business community through professional development, leadership development, business, and social networking. Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses's Reading with Horses annual summer literacy programs in partnership with the Ocala CEP will have this year's kickoff on June 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Ocala Downtown Market!
Gentle Carousel's Reading with Horses summer programs are free for children and adults. Each week features a different horse and children's book by different authors and publishers about that actual horse. The goal is to bring books to life.
Every child will be able to select a new book to take home each week.

The following is a list of road closures that will be in effect for the 56th Annual Ocala Arts Festival (FAFO) happening Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29 in downtown Ocala.
Road closures effective Friday, Oct. 27 at 5 a.m. to Sunday, Oct. 29 at 11:30 p.m. –
• SE First Avenue, from SE Third Street to E Silver Springs Boulevard
• E Broadway Street, from SW First Avenue to Osceola Avenue
• SW First Ave from SW Broadway Street to SW Second Street
• E Fort King Street, from Osceola Avenue to SW Second Street
• SE Second Street, from Osceola Avenue to SW First Ave

YPO Info + Committee Descriptions
YPO provides young professionals of Ocala/Marion County with a forum to understand and influence community issues, develop leadership skills, give back to the community and promote the growth of Ocala/Marion County. YPO is open to area young professionals ages 21-40 with annual membership dues of $75. There are several benefits to being in YPO including an all access pass to all YPO events, entrance in to many of the Chamber & Economic Partnership events and activities, and exclusive networking and leadership opportunities.
Exclusive YPO Events:
• Every other month, we alternate between Leaders’ Lunches (odd months) and Happy Hour Networking Mixers (even months) that give members the opportunity to learn about critical issues affecting Marion County and our professional lives, and ample time to network and socialize with our peers.
• Several times a year we offer members the chance to just have pure fun at our special events. We have pop-up events interspersed throughout the year, and our annual membership event in June, which replaces our Networking Mixer.
• We also hold semi-annual C-Suite events and Ignition events with local C-Suite level professionals from our area’s major businesses and with our local elected officials, respectively.
• YPO also participates in many community service activities around the community including Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Food 4 Kids, and United Way’s Day of Caring. We are the lead organization on the Holiday Giving Tree, a holiday assistance program for senior citizens and children. Our impact has grown every year, consistently exceeding the donations from the year previous.
We are always looking for new members, members who want to serve on our committees and board, and local businesses who want to host a pop-up event/sponsor our events/connect with our membership. Reach out to us today!
