On September 8th, Driven Studio will be closing its doors at 225 West Ave. I firstly want to thank all of you for the support with this journey. We have touched the lives of so many incredible people. I am so proud of the community cultivated in such a short time and I know this will leave a lasting impact on my life, and yours, too. Something I have poured my entire being into would not at all be possible without you.

Happy Motherās Day to all the moms and moms to be, no matter what stage you are in. There is a spectacular lesson to be learned in every moment with them if you choose to bring awareness to itšæ
THIS šš» what have you put on the back burner lately because it feels like you have to earn it to do it? Iāve been thinking about this as I approach my first Motherās Day. Why am I waiting for a special day to define what I could really have used weeks ago and receive more often?
Self-care doesnāt mean you have to go get pampered every dayā¦ It could mean a walk with a friend, alone time in silence, talking nicely to yourself, or attending a workout class. Itās unique to you, and thatās whatās important.
But whatās more, realizing that it is indeed NECESSARY for the preservation of who YOU are is key to giving yourself permission to participate in these acts, big or small.

As we head into holiday prep and all the festivities, itās so easy to feel totally spent come new year. Here are some preventative tips to keep the next few weeks feeling smooth sailing, even if it all feels like complete chaos š

Itās so easy to look forward, plan ahead, and wish for the next thing. Now more than ever, whatās right here in front of me IS the best thing.

I like to think Iām an optimist, especially when it comes to bananas going brown in my kitchenā¦ there is literally no other choice than to bake banana muffins!
Muffins over bread are a personal plus for me because they are easier to prep and keep in the fridge better throughout the week, but you could do either!
Hereās the recipe:
2 browned bananas mashed
1/4 cup honey or agave (optional, but I always find the bananas if ripe enough provide all the sweetness you need)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup whole organic milk (or nut milk of your choice)
2 cups of whole wheat flour
2 tbsp ground flaxseed
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp sea salt
(optional, dark chocolate chips, or walnuts to mix in the muffins)
Preheat oven to 350 and line a muffin tin with paper muffin cups. Use olive oil spray to line the paper cups.
Combine the mashed banana, the cinnamon, the coconut oil, the vanilla and milk into a large bowl and whisk to combine. In a separate smaller bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle this back into the banana mixture until a batter forms. Fold in any extras like chocolate chips or walnuts.
Separate the batter into the prepared muffin tins . Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
I enjoyed these all week by keeping them in the fridge in an airtight container š

throughout this pregnancy and feeling absolutely so confident.
Iāve been right where you are, pregnant or not, experiencing changes with your body that sometimes arenāt anticipatedā¦ weight gain, muscle loss from an injury, and yesā¦ pregnancy.
I think itās best in those moments to evaluate where you are and if thereās a purpose for that change. But it absolutely has to start with acceptance, growing from a place of LOVE for your body, not hate or disgust. Only then can we work on physical change.
Personally, I know for me thereās a purpose for these changes and I love every second of it.
If you are looking to make a change in your body, let it first come from love š¤š¤

When we moved here 3 years ago, we envisioned what life would be like to raise a little one in our favorite town. The beach, the playground, the library, this amazing community all at our fingertipsā¦ Weāre just so incredibly excited for it all.

What are you doing for you lately?
Do you feel like youāre the same person you were a year ago?
How have you grown as a person in any small way?
What habits are you proud of that youāve picked up?
Ask yourself these questions and donāt be afraid to go looking for the answer.
If youāre looking for a deeper understanding and connection with yourself, hereās a few simple steps to take to get started:
1. Start a journaling practice. I love the 5 minute journal! Such an easy place to start to stay consistent. I show up daily for it because itās sooo easy.
2. Give to charity or do something for someone else once a week. The feeling is unexpectedly rewarding, even if what your feel like youāre doing is small.
3. Create sustainable movement habits. Your daily workouts donāt all have to be extremely intense, but assess how certain movement makes you feel. Do you feel empowered after a strength class? Do you feel calm after a yin class? Does it help to relieve stress by taking a walk after work? What things make it easy to show up daily?
4. Practice self care. Learn to say no more often. Light a candle with your morning coffee. Wake up early and spend time just being with yourself.
5. Do something for fun that helps express creativity. Get out in nature. Paint something. Take photos. Make a craft with a friend.
Do yourself a favor and try to incorporate one of the above this week. Then report back and comment below what you did!
Yes, you can have your cake and eat it, too!
Never feel deprived, isolated, or like you have to turn away from friends to see any real progress.
At the end of the day, this is life weāre talking about! Whatever you do to manage your weight and stay healthy, make sure itās sustainable. Ask yourself ācan I keep up with this long term? Does this make me happy?ā
