Huge thank you to Dr. Sandra Woodley for her unwavering support of our music program. She hosted a lovely reception for our Mariachi Halcones today to say “Thank you!” for their performance at our State of the University event.

We had a wonderful time auditioning some new members of the UTPB “Mariachi Halcones!” These young musicians are from Legacy Hs and we are happy to welcome them to our program!

The UTPB jazz combo had a great time performing for the International Festival, today! Thank you for this wonderful celebration of culture on our campus!

Join us on Monday April 29th at 7:30pm for the UTPB Jazz Kettle Concert! The concert will be on the UTPB Main Campus on the 1st floor of the J. Conrad Dunagan Library. We hope to see everyone there!

Community Music Day was a huge hit across Midland and Odessa! Our UTPB music students performed across the area in cafe’s and schools simply to brighten the days of our community members!

We think it is so important to give back to our community who gives so much to us! We hope you’ll attend our concerts, join an ensemble, or simply support us through your support of the University.

This afternoon our Symphonic Winds were treated to a visit of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers from across the UT system. These faculty represent the highest levels of academic success, creativity, and research. We performed for them and spoke about how the human brain works while making music.
We were not surprised to learn that a few of them had significant musical experience. We are humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to share some music with you all!

We had a wonderful time doing “remote auditions” for the music program at Midland HS, today! We heard some fabulous orchestra students and were treated so kindly by their director Nikesha Hailey-Hicks. We are excited to welcome some new Falcons next year!

The UTPB music faculty presented a lovely spring showcase recital on Sunday, April 14. The performances from our flute, tuba, horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, and percussion faculty were outstanding! Thank you for not only teaching well, but for your leadership by example! Special thanks to our fabulous collaborative pianist, Shari Santorelli!
