The Southern Union Student Nurses Association just wrapped up their spring swim & towel drive to benefit The Big House Foundation. This wonderful organization provides assistance to local foster children and families. Nearly 70 towels and swimsuits were collected this year! These donations will help ensure that each foster child has a brand new swimsuit and towel to call their own this summer. Thank you to all who assisted in this effort. We are proud to serve our community and to call ourselves SU Bison!
Dr. Morgan Yordy, Professor from Auburn University Nursing School, along with her therapy dog, Sully, came to visit NUR 112 today and spoke to them about the types and purposes of therapy animals.

The Student Nurses Association would like to say thanks to everyone who made contributions to the food drive. There was a total of 728 non-perishable items collected along with $345.00 monetary donations. Thanks again!
Each Fall the Southern Union Student Nurses Association gather canned food to benefit the East Alabama Food Bank and the Southern Union Food Pantry. Thanks to everyone who donated to the food drive. You all made this a success!

The SUSCC Student Nurses Association participated in the SU Fall Festival by hosting two trunk-or-treat stations to hand out candy to children of the community. They were joined by SU faculty, staff, and family. It was a super fun event!!

East Alabama Health visiting to spark SU NUR 112 students’ interest in the Nursing Apprenticeship.
NSNA students participated in the AORTA run to benefit East Alabama Cancer Center. Our students arrived at 6:15am and worked at the water stops and directed traffic.
The Southern Union Student Nurses Association students and families participated in the East Alabama Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sunday, October 23rd. The student team raised a total of $570 for the Alzheimer's Association to help provide care and support to those facing Alzheimer's and all other dementia, and advance critical research.

Fourth semester Southern Union Students helped Lee-Scott Academy perform vision screenings on over 300 children from Pre-K through 5th grade. The student with the Auburn shirt is one of our Faculty’s son, Melissa Wheeles.

Southern Union nursing students and faculty have fun during the Children’s Expo.
NUR 114 students participated in EAH’s disaster drill. The students were moulaged to simulate injuries sustained in a disaster. This drill helps EAH test preparedness of the staff for a real disaster.
