Too much fun at the Up and Running Again Southern California Alumni Run this morning. We celebrated the new alumni who finished the Fontana Half last weekend and had a time of connection with older Up and Running Again alumni.
One recent finisher said, “I never thought I would be able to do an 11-mile run, then a 13-mile run, but I really have come to realize that all things are possible with God.”
🏅MEDAL MONDAY🏅
Big congratulations to the teams at the Orange County Rescue Mission and Long Beach Rescue Mission teams on their half marathon finishes at the Fontana Days Half Marathon this weekend. In total, 23 Up and Running Again participants completed the race.
A mother finished with her son. A participant crossed the finish line hand in hand with her coach. Runners pushed through physical pain to prove to themselves that they are capable of more than they ever imagined. What an inspiring day!

Shoe day fun for Long Beach Rescue Mission and Orange County Rescue Mission teams!
Thanks to generous donors, all first-time Up and Running Again participants were gifted brand-new running shoes as a celebration of all their hard work and discipline in training so far.
And a special thank you to for their continued support in outfitting our runners with new shoes.

The Up and Running Again prayer team officially launched last month. This is a dedicated group of individuals committed to praying for the needs of Up and Running Again and praising God for the ways He is working through Up and Running Again. The hope is that every runner who runs a race in 2024 will be prayed for by name.
And there is always room for more on the prayer team. There is no in-person commitment, simply a dedication to pray for requests sent monthly. Sound like something you’d like to join? Click here: http://tinyurl.com/URAprayerteam
Meet Kody, a recent Up and Running Again finisher, who found life transformation across the finish line. He said this about his experience,
“This half marathon meant a lot to me. I got to finish something I started. I feel good mentally, spiritually, emotionally. I can’t wait to do it again next year.”
A special thank-you message and update on the final grand total amount given toward the $100,000 year-end campaign. Thank you!
There’s still time to give a gift to reach the $100,000 goal and impact more lives in 2024 with a half marathon finish. So far, just over of $85,000 has been given or pledged. The finish line is in sight, but we need your help to cross it and provide a path to lifelong success to the many future participants waiting for Up and Running Again seasons to start in 2024. Thank you to all who have given so far! Click below to give.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6
May your heart be filled with peace and joy on this Christmas Day.
🏅Medal Monday🏅
Five participants from the Las Vegas Rescue Mission crossed the half marathon finish line forever changed this weekend at the Hoover Dam Half Marathon.
They are the last of the 123 participants to run 13.1 miles in 2023. This is the most participants to ever complete the Up and Running Again program in one year. What a blessing!
But with each additional runner comes an additional cost, and so many runner finishes has left us in a tight financial position. We have set a $100,000 year-end goal to be able to fully fund all 2024 programs and impact even more runners in 2024. And this year a generous group of donors has stepped forward with a $25,000 matching grant meaning any gift given before December 31st, up to $25,000 will be doubled. And even more, your impact will be doubled.
Thank you to all who have given this year already to impact lives with something as simple as running. Click the link below to help reach the $100,000 goal and provide a path to lifelong success to even more runners in 2024.

THANK YOU to all who gave generously yesterday on to cover the costs of the most recent Dallas season and provide even more people with a path to lifelong success. What a gift!
Your partnership provides practice and race tees, nutrition, race entry, running shoes, a pre-race banquet and food, and so much more. Even more importantly, your support shows participants that they are valued and cared for. Thank you!
