Our team has a successful weekend at the new dental clinic in Guatemala. They were able to treat many patients who had never been to a dentist before!

We love creating healthy smiles and teaching healthy habits to our patients!

Our dental team had a great first day in Guatemala, despite facing some challenges. The power went out as soon as they got ready to start seeing patients, however they were still able to take x-rays and do exams. The team is geared up for what should be a busy day ahead.

The entire Sharing Smiles team would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Wilbur Davis as he retires from the Sharing Smiles board. Dr. Davis joined the board in 2013. Under his leadership, we fulfilled our sustainability goal at Mission Emanuel in the Dominican Republic and are well on our way at El Hogar in Honduras.

Dr. Davis has a keen talent for building clinics and developing high quality teams. Because of his reputation as a skilled doctor and leader, he was recruited by former board chair Nestor de Armas to lead the Sharing Smiles pediatric dental program, which he continues to do with the help of the high caliber dental team he built.

Dr. Davis has donated countless hours sourcing the appropriate supplies and equipment for our trips and onsite clinics. His personal philanthropy and commitment to creating smiles for children in need has inspired our board to dream bigger, open more dental clinics and serve more disadvantaged children than we ever thought possible.

In addition, Dr. Davis helped spearhead bone graft surgeries on our cleft trips and continues to provide oversight and mentorship for cleft bone graft procedures.

Thank you so much for your service, Dr. Davis. We are confident that you are a lifelong advocate for Sharing Smiles.
