Today we lost a treasured member of our family, Daniella's cat Nala. She was the sweetest soul in a fur body. She was Daniella's "Tigger". Her heart is very broken, I have no words.
Looks like I will have jury duty Monday March 11.
Ok facebook, here is a post.
"Thank you for your service" is an easy phrase to say. To me it means thank you for your sacrifices, the holidays you missed with your family, the physical and mental exhaustion you have felt. Thank you for the times you acted bravely when you were afraid. Thank you for moving forward when for some you didn't know if you were going to live to see the next day. Thank you to others who live with knowing what it feels like to take a human life, for nightmares you endure, for always having to sit with your back to a wall. Thank you to those who had to see unspeakable destruction and death, and still can see it as if it just happened in their minds. Thank you to others who know you will never again be the person you were before you served, and yet know if you had to do it over you would still answer the call. Some served in combat zones, some behind a desk, some stayed stateside and some went abroad. Some will never be able to even talk about where they went or what they did. Every one of them sacrificed something to serve our country, so take a moment out of worrying about your coffee order or what was tweeted this week or whether or not an athlete stands, and THANK A VETERAN who makes it possible for you to enjoy such freedoms. For my friends who have served, "Thank you for your service."
Made me think of some of my clients affectionately.
What kind of day will you decide to create for yourself?
Addiction will take everything from you, your family, your house, your job, your self-respect, and as it is leaving you chase it down the driveway to ask it if it will take some more - Charlotte Guiliani
Feeling depressed? Lack of energy? Although some do require medication to help, before you go that route, try walking first. Studies have shown that walking 30 minutes 3 times per week can have some of the same effects as anti-depression medication. Try to let your body balance itself out first. If it doesn't work, then you can consult your doctor.
Think of your mind like a computer for a minute, and then pay attention to how many "background programs" you are running. Visualize yourself closing down all the extra programs that are running in the back of your mind until you are completely in the moment. Just breathe, and try to just concentrate on your breathing for five minutes. This is how you start to live in the moment . . .
Carve out and claim your own moments of time. . . YOU have to put yourself on the priority list, or no one else will. . . and if all else fails, just breathe . . .
If you don't define who you are, someone else will be happy to do it for you. Take time to think about who you are, at your soul level. . .
cont - Now consider the messages you tell yourself about yourself? "I am unattractive, I am unloveable, I am unworthy?" or "I am worthy, I am loveable, I am beautiful?" Be careful what you are telling yourself, you will believe it to the point it can affect your mind, body and spirit. You are worthy, you are strong, you are loveable.
You will believe what you tell yourself. Try this: Put your arm out and have someone push down on it, while you try to hold it straight. Have them gauge how hard it is. Now say OUT LOUD five times, "I am weak and worthless." Put your arm out and try it again. Your arm will be weaker. Now say OUT LOUD five times, "I am strong and I am worthy." Retry the arm. You will be stronger. It really works, try it. - cont.
We teach people how to treat us. . . when we accept treatment it is telling those around us that it is ok to treat us a certain way. We also lead by example. How are you teaching those in your life to treat you?
