Steel Furnace CrossFit is a 12,000ft² fitness facility located in Metro West, Orlando. Our workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. He’s been a member here for exactly a year. He’s also the biggest and strongest dude in the gym 💪 - if you can’t find him, just look for the fully loaded barbell. Scientists are still working on inventing plates thin enough so he can fit them all on his barbell. 💥
He comes to almost all different class times and also comes to open gym times on the weekend to work out by himself - always getting it in, even with a crazy nurse’s schedule! 👨🏻⚕️

Congratulations to our June Athlete of the Month…. Michel! 🎉
He has been a member for nearly 3 years and is as consistent as they come. ✅ He’s improved everything from pull ups to box jumps and also is starting to get double unders! He probably has the most positive attitude in the gym which helps him acquire and improve his skills and capacity.
You can find him at the 8am or late afternoon classes at least 3 days a week. Be sure to congratulate him next time you see him, and also ask about some of his incredible home work projects that he does in his spare time! 🛠️

We have 6 athletes competing as either individuals or on a team. Let’s show some ❤️ for them as they show off all their hard work in the gym this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Schedule is attached (DM us if you want the entire page).
Class schedule is normal tomorrow (Friday) but we will be closed on Saturday to attend the event. If you’re able, come watch and support your friends! 🙌🏼
This coming Monday is a holiday - Memorial Day. And the entire US CrossFit community has a tradition of doing the Hero workout “Murph” on this day.
Come join us for the workout at 10am and then a BBQ after! It’s one of our toughest and longest workouts of the year - but we do it to honor the ultimate sacrifice of US Navy Lt. Michael Murphy (as well as others who have sacrificed their lives for this country). There will be options to shorten the workout or to team up with a friend.
Even though this workout is difficult, please remember not only the reason why we complete it, but also the reason why we *are able* to complete it.
“In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.”

Congratulations to our March Athlete of The Month™️ - Giulianna!
She has been a member for just about a year 👏 and has been a staple of our 7pm class. She’s got a competitive athletic background in swimming 🏊♀️, and also CRUSHES barbell movements. Constantly putting up 🤯 lifts in class. She is currently competing in her second Open and is always pushing herself in classes to learn new movements and continue improving. 🏋️♀️

He started with us in 2018 and has been one of our most dedicated members since - often coming in early or staying after class to work on making himself better. 💪 He’s competed in too many competitions to count, and despite frequently announcing the “next” one will be his “last”… he’s yet to make good on that promise. If you’re interested in trying a competition or want to know what it takes, speak to this guy. He is our “Director of Competition”, after all! 🎬
