Oxnard Peace Officers Association
The OPOA was originally chartered in the1970’s. The OPOA is proud of its advocacy for employees and service to the community.
The Oxnard Peace Officer's Association (OPOA) was originally chartered as a fraternal organization in the1970’s. In the years that followed, the OPOA was reorganized to expand its charter and mission. The concerns of officer’s and civilian employee’s working conditions and economic conditions became a priority. The OPOA set out to establish a positive dialogue with the police administration and ci
Clarification statement from the Oxnard Peace Officers Association (OPOA)
It has come to our attention that a recent political mailer, the "Cops Voters Guide" is providing a false and misleading impression that the Oxnard Peace Officers Association (OPOA) has endorsed or otherwise supports Aaron Starr for City Council.
We want to clarify that this is not the case. The mailer in question was part of a paid promotional advertisement that has no direct ties to police agencies or associations. It SHOULD NOT be interpreted as an endorsement by our organization for Mr. Starr.
Oxnard Peace Officers Association (OPOA) has officially endorsed Bryan MacDonald for Mayor and Micheala Perez for District 6.
We stand firmly behind these candidates, and any suggestion otherwise is misleading.
We do not support Mr. Starr, as we do not view him as being a supporter of public safety.
Every start of the school year the OPOA, led by our public safety dispatchers coordinate and assemble backpacks filled with school supplies to donate to local Oxnard schools.
The OPOA is committed to supporting the local community especially the youth.
Please join us on September 16, 2024 for the annual Oxnard Fallen Officer Memorial Golf Tournament at Spanish Hills Country Club.

The OPOA went shopping for gifts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program where every child deserves to feel the joy of Christmas morning.
We are grateful to be a part of giving children of Oxnard a joyous Christmas experience.
Imagine a young teen working a landscaping job, all summer long, so they could earn thier own way to buy an XBOX.
Now imagine burglars enter your house when your away and steal the XBOX. Devasting to the family and especially for the teen who worked so hard to get it.
When members of the Oxnard Peace Officers Association heard about this we, we contacted the family and asked if we could replace what was stolen.
Today we were able to make that happen!
The family and teen were very appreciative and we were glad we were able to give back and make their holidays better.
Yesterday members from the Oxnard Peace Officers Association carried the tradition of placing a Christmas tree next to Det. Jim O’Brien’s memorial site.
Tomorrow will mark the 30th anniversary of Jim’s tragic death. Jim, a Father, husband, and officer was killed while protecting the residents of the City of Oxnard.
Thank you to Oxnard Boy Scout Troop 231 for constantly maintaining the area.
May we always remember Officer O’Brien. The OPOA never forgets.
Today, the OPOA is thankful to our partner, the Ventura County Rescue Mission, who helped identify several families who could use a little extra help for their Thanksgiving meal. The OPOA provided grocery store gift cards to 10 families to cover their Thanksgiving meal during these hard times. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
